I think I am a positive person but as a modern C's fan I feel we truely lack the luck of the Irish and I thought it would be good to dissect the worst case scenario (wsc) to see how we could approach the offseason if things don't go our way in terms of picks, playoffs and free agents.

Also worse case scenario means we go out first round in the playoffs or our picks start losing value...and not Brad Stevens gets struck by lightning or Isaiah Thomas somehow gets gigantism.

So no wise guys haha

In term of the Brooklyn pick its beginning to feel like 2014 all over again as Brooklyn seem to be winning their way out of the top 3 lottery spots (I personally feel Bill Simmons has screwed us by publicly mocking Brooklyn all season into motivating them lol). Wcs seems to be they fall into the 4-5 lottery spot and we end up with the 6th pick in the draft. That leave us with the possibility of drafting Dragan Bender, Ivan Rabb, Jayden Brown, Jakob Poeltl any thoughts on who you'd rather draft?

Think we can offer a worst-case scenario Brooklyn #6 pick to Sacramento for Cousins? Or would there be someone else you'd try to target via trade with the pick?

Draft Ingram or Simmons and he turns out to be a bust.

Worst case scenario as of today is the 8th pick if the Nets end the season on a mini-tear, then getting swept in the first round, as a 3rd seed so that higher expectations would be disappointed and the worst draft pick is received, also the Mavs make the playoffs, and then we get shut out on all of the 1st and 2nd tier free agents in an already meager free agent class, and the whole while all the top shelf stars get traded elsewhere. But the chances are extremely low. I'd say the Celtics would have a much better chance of winning it all than all that, lol. And even in that worst case scenario, we'd still have one of the youngest and deepest teams in the league, one of the best defenses in the league, three new first round picks added, with two more extra chances at a top 3 pick the next two years, one of the best and youngest coaches in the league. Sittin' pretty, every which way!

Finish 4th. Play Charlotte. Start 3-0. Charlotte comes back: 3-3.

Last game in TD Garden. Last attack. Smartacus hits a 3 to give us the lead 75-73. One second left to play. Charlotte has no time out. Everyone is celebrating. Kaminski hits a 3.

Brooklyn finishes sixth from bottom. We still get to pick first. We all feel so lucky and praise the ping pong ball Gods. We pick Ingram. Has the mother of all summer camps and preseasons. He gets to start at SF. In December, we lead the East 26-3. Brandon gets drunk the night of Dec 24; has a car accident. Dies the next day.

Brad is shocked by Ingram's death. Decides to dedicate his life to helping others; gets a divorce and goes to Africa to work for an NGO. Ainge brings back Pitino. We go 13-40 for the rest of the season.

The worst case result is easy to sum up.... (1) We lose in the draft lottery (2) We lose in the playoffs (badly) (3) We lose in free agency

For me, losing in the lottery might be the biggest blow, since we may never get another shot at such a high pick.

I sure hope the luck of the Irish comes through for us

i hate you.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Being a higher seed and getting upset.

Getting the first pick and wasting it on a "gritty, scrappy, full of heart" guy that Danny loves (like Brown or whatever, and not Ingram/Simmons).

Being forced to make another FA move ala Amir Johnson again.

I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Even the worst case scenarios for us are things other teams could only wish for.

Yeah, Greece, that picture is an amazing representation for this thread - tp.

And thank you Dino for the second portion of your comment - I was ready to jump off a bridge after reading the first part.

greece - that leprechaun photo makes up for the fact that you were discussing a scenario where Ingram actually dies. TP.
