Starting to like him  here although I'm still trying to feel out his game.   If the Celtics don't find their star this draft or make a trade for one would make sense to pass on the guards and take a guy like Rabb to take Amir's spot down the road.  He wouldn't need to play much and would compliment give some competition to Mickey.  I'm not sure we need Bender with Sully and KO here.  Hield, Dunn and Murray also don't make much sense. We have Bradley and Hield or Murray might be an improvement in ways down the road but I don't know.  Hield and Murray are both more prolific shooters at the college level and probably will be in the NBA but as far as overall I'm not so sure.  Neither plays the defense Bradley does.  Dunn is another pg.  We have Isaiah, Rozier, Smart and Turner already.  I like Kris Dunn but just trying to make sense of this draft.   jaylen Brown I like as a physical guard who can get to the rim but he is falling off my radar a bit.  Bradley is improving and we have Smart.

Rabb is skinny right now but he is automatic at the rim and can block shots.  We don't really have a finisher like that.  People are sleeping on Rabb a bit.

Between guys like Skal, Poeltl or Rabb I'm not sure who I'd take there however.  We could use a guy like that though.

I'm down for some Rabb; decent handle too...

This is kind of how I'm seeing the draft right now.  I like the players in the draft but I'm not buying the hype so much or how these guys fit us.   I really am not even sure I want the top pick.  I think there are nice players but we almost have more leverage trading the pick almost.

Hield strikes me as a system player in ways and a guy you really have to build your offense around, and I'm not sure how successful he will be in the NBA. He is a guy who is going to shoot and come off screens and shoot though.  He strikes me as a guy who could be a patient shooter too.  But might have a little more Ray allen to his game where he is going to want to shoot it and shoot it a lot early in his career. He could be Steph Curry at sg he may have his struggles.. I think he will put up numbers and be a good SG with a lot of range and ability to hit a variety of shots, but I'm not sure if he will fit here. If he is a more patient shooter and plays within the offense it's more justified.   He could be a cross between Pierce and Ray which would be the right fit.

Jamal Murray is like Marcus but on offense. He reminds me of Jeff Hornecek a bit where he can take it to the hoop and distribute a bit and also shoot very well.  Both he and Hield are ok defensively but nothing special.   They are offensive players.

Jaylen Brown like i was saying is a physical guard and finisher who can really take it to the rim.  He isn't much else right now.  With Marcus and Bradley here and improving I don't know.

Bender is a project and a guy like KO.  Again why?

Right now I'm taking Rabb if we can't find a star.  I think he fits our team. Even over Poeltl and Skal.  I sort of hope we just take Rabb anyways. Poeltl is a bigger more physical guy like Bogut.  I think we prefer skinnier more athletic guys to go with KO and Sully.  Skal has upside but I don't know.

I know fans like stars and like to jump on players bandwagons.  Just listening to CSN and they will talk up Hield and bandwagon.  I'm starting to consider that mentality frat boy crap because they don't really consider how he fits us.  I like Hield as a player, but Ainge is going to weigh every option.

I think we have the #1 or 2 pick we take Simmons or Ingram just based on upside, but as far as fit Rabb fits us.

I don't really want the top pick in this draft right this second to be honest.  I hope we trade it or take Rabb.

If we are up in the draft even use a guy like Hield or Ingram or Simmons as leverage to move down and select Rabb and get someone else as well.  I'm not sold on Rabb being the guy for us, we might be able to find a better fit, but his game seems to make sense for us.

I just am not sure I see the Celtics taking a guy like Hield or Simmons or even Ingram and changing directions and building around a young player like that.  Stevens could probably do a good job fitting these guys into our system, but they are going to take time to develop.

Simmons, Ingram and Hield are the 3 studs in this draft.  Hield is the guy I'd choose to build around right now.  Rabb, Poeltl, Dunn, Murray, Brown and Bender are right there.

There are a lot of scenarios here where Ainge can maneuver and could take Hield and trade Bradley, but I'm taking the simple approach right now.  Isaiah and Hield would be a dynamic duo on paper, but I'm not really sold it is necessarily better than what we have at guard now.  Isaiah is the catalyst with Bradley and our assortment of guys doing pretty well.

So if we want a star and want to build with a young guy I'd go Hield.  If we want to go for fit I'd go Rabb.
