The Brooklyn pick is already in the lottery.
Dallas and Boston could easily fall out of the playoffs with the injuries to Parsons and Crowder.
I kind of hope it happens.

You think it would be in anyway good for us to fall out of the playoffs?

also we are 4 games up in the playoffs with 11 to go I don't foresee us dropping out. That would absolutely shock me.

Fantastic, we'll be able to draft three more Terry Roziers! Totally worth the playoff spot!

Haven't you heard?  Terry Rozier is really good.

Wait a minute, isn't this kind-of proving the OP's point? By making the playoffs we got Rozier instead of Winslow/Turner [supposedly]

One of the huge pleasures this year has been having a competitive team to root for, while also rooting for lottery position from Brooklyn / Dallas.  It's like both sides of the playoffs vs. tanking debate can be happy.

Then this thread popped up.  With virtually guaranteed top-5 lottery position and another pick that could fall in the late lottery, why on earth would anybody be rooting for us to miss the playoffs?  Isn't being a flexible, competitive team our primary selling point to free agents?

How anyone can be rooting for the Celtics, who are tied in 4th and .5 away from third currently, to miss the playoffs just to get the 14 or 15 pick instead is completely beyond my mental comprehension.

Those are weak fans who have clearly given up.

Not gonna lie. I entertained the thought of tanking too this season, but only when the Celtics were outside of the playoff picture. Now it's ridiculous.

We need to be in the 3rd or 6th playoff spot!
However that happens, that is a good opportunity for us.
or  Toronto needs to be seeded one, then the 4-5 spot would be nice.

But sorry, we are not going to fall out of the playoffs!!! Until we are beaten!  ;D
