I live a few minutes away from UK's campus. I've seen Skal (and Murray and Ulis) play a few times. Skal's movement is insanely smooth. So hyper athletic. Really great shooter too. I look at Skal as a Small Forward trapped in a scrawny Center's body. If he develops his body further, and learns how to play closer to the hoop, he's an all-star waiting to happen.

I'll take Skal at 13 all day. He's a 20 year old with a crazy high ceiling, and I'm not super in love with anyone else around that range. His draft situation reminds me a lot of Miles Turner last year, but with mentality questions opposed to health ones.
My biases, in order of fervor:
Pro:
Smart, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Kemba, Grant Williams, Sleepy Williams, Edwards!

Anti:
Kanter, Semi, Theis, Poierier

Skal Labissiere should stay at Kentucky for a second season but let's say he comes out and drops to the back of the lottery and the Mavs pick winds up being #13 (wishful thinking). Is he worth bringing in and trying to develop at the #13 spot?

I think with Dallas's pick he'd be worth a chance at.  The Celtics have taken guys here and missed before but not with this much upside.  A James Young or a Terry Rozier, none of them were being talked about as a top 3 pick in the draft at some point.  Rozier wasn't even the best player on the team when he was in college.

Skal Labissiere best case I think could be a Nerlens Noel with a better shot.  Which is someone the Celtics have been wanting.  Also with basketball going smaller, Labissiere is athletic enough we could use him as our center going forward.

So hard to tell what he'll become because he's played so little.  I think you'd have to get him in for a workout and see just how tough/weak he is.  It's worrying that Calipari wouldn't even play him against physical college players because he couldn't/wouldn't compete.

That said, I'd take him with the Dallas pick as well.  We've got so many picks might as well shoot for upside.

He should not stay in school that's a stupid thing to say. I think he should be a top 10 pick. Or at least top 14. I think we should take him. He would fit in great here.

I think he's the next Kawhi Leonard.

TP for "the Ocho" announcer reference. Haha!
