Is it mathematically possible for us to do this (hypothetical long shot I know), I am not too good at working out cap room and bird rights and the ability to exceed the cap. If we were to trade for Cousins, would we be left with a good enough line up to entice either or both KD and AH?

Hypothetically if we were to win the draft and offer up the number 1 pick, C's pick, along with Olynyk, Smart or Rozier and a future 1st would that suffice? Without AJ, Turner, Zeller, JJ, Sully, I am assuming we would be under the cap to sign Boogie?

Obviously Durant and Horford will want max contracts but would we exceed the soft cap with current contracts and Cousins?

I know it's a pipe dream but can you imagine?!!

Cousins
Horford
Durant
Bradley
Thomas

6th: Crowder, 7th Rozier/Smart, 8th Mickey, 9th Hunter ect.

Theoretically yes we could. We could trade guaranteed contracts for Cousins and waive Sully, JJ, Amir, Zeller and Turner to sign Durant and Horford.

Of course Sacramento wouldn't want the guaranteed contracts and Durant would be silly to sign a 5 year deal this summer so..

Only guaranteed deals Cs have is Avery, Mickey, Rozier, Marcus, KO, IT, Young, and Crowder. All of those deals are either supercheap or supervalue so that won't be the problem for Sac. They will happily take as many of those as they can.. The thing they won't want is anything less than two very high draft picks

I just checked out the salary cap for next season and the soft cap is at 63 million and the luxury tax line or hard cap is at 81 million so I think it is theoretically possible given Cousins is already locked in to a reasonable deal.

My question in all this is how effective is Horford playing PF?  I know he plays mostly C for the Hawks.  As he slows down going into his 30s would it be wise for him to move to PF?

I also wonder how other stars would feel about playing with Cousins.

Ainge could have other options like Blake Griffin, or Love and Bulter that should take lesser assets to get.  Going to be an interesting offseason.

It is possible, but not if you keep all the other players you list.  You'd need to lose at least one of Bradley, Thomas, or Crowder.

Many people, possibly including Horford, feel that his ideal position is at the 4.  Of course, that was before small ball was all the rage, but he'd be fine there.

Cousins, Horford, Durrant, n I. Thomas in the same lineup would be sick. If we have to give up either Crowder, Bradley or Isaiah, I'd say we can live without Crowder given we get All 3 bugs on the roster.

Durrant
Cousins
Horford
Bradley
I. Thomas

That would be crazy...

I can imagine world peace too. This would come right before as a teaser.

You would have to deal AB and Crowder then a rookie contract too. Probably KO.
So AB, Crowder, KO and Nets pick for Cousins. Kings would jump on that all day even if it was 3 overall pick.
Then let all the FAs go.
That leaves you with still enough $ to sign KD and Hordford.
Team is probably stuck using all their picks to fill out bench once at the cap.

Starters: IT, Smart, KD, Hordford, Cousins.
Bench: Rozier, Hunter, Young, Mickey and a bunch of rookies.

nice starting line up. pretty sucky bench.  :P
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

100% agree. Yet with all the picks team has they can maybe flip two players and picks for an upgrade player. Like Philly and Wolves 2nd rounders + Hunter and Young for Korver.

Rozier, Korver, Mickey.
With Dallas pick try and draft Valentine or Luw.
C's 1st try to draft Stone or Zubac.
That wouldn't be a bad 10 man rotation.

You'd always have the veteran minimum route, too (see David West).

Yes they could. Pierce would probably be the most likely. Maybe KD and Hordford get Noah to buy in? Noah has always been about winning and guys he wants to battle with. Stoudemire would be a good vet addition too with a connection. If you get one of those bigs you are probably good. That also mean being able to still pacakage 2nds to maybe move up 4 spots in the second. Though all unlikely I would like that teams chances

Starters=IT, Smart, KD, Hordford, Cousins
Bench=Rozier, Korver, Pierce, Mickey, Stat/Noah
Rookies=Brogdon, Valentine, Ellis, Warney, Zubac
