We sign Durant. Draft Ingram #2 Overall. No Horford though.

Give me your best five, we could play offensively.

 Durant
 Ingram
 Crowder
 Bradley
 Thomas

That would be a fun lineup to close out games. Small ball with two 6'9" guys with 7'3" wingspan's who can shoot the lights out.

I'd jump for joy at that off season.

That'd be sick. I'm really hoping Ingram doesn't end up being the top pick though. I really want him. Hope someone at #1 doesn't take him before us.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Yeah, I just want a top two pick so we get a potential star.

Durant at C and Ingram at PF do you want them to snap in half?
CB Mock Deadline - Minnesota Timberwolves
Kemba Walker / Tyus Jones / Aaron Brooks
Jimmy Butler / Jamal Crawford / Treveon Graham
Rodney Hood / Nic Batum / Marcus Georges Hunt
Taj Gibson / Nemanja Bjelica / Jonas Jerebko
KAT / Derrick Favors / Cole Aldrich
Picks - 2018 CHA 1st (Lotto protected), none out

Why not Horford, too? In that situation we'd still have room to sign Horford with cap space.

PG: Smart, IT
SG: Bradley, Rozier/Hunter
SF: Durant, Ingram
PF: KO, Mickey
C: Horford, FA/Dallas pick
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Durant and Ingram would be fun to have together. You could use Durant as Ingram's mentor (he'll probably need a couple years of seasoning anyway).

But might as well sign Horford while we're at it. A crunchtime lineup of Horford, Crowder, Durant, Bradley (or Smart), and Thomas would be awesome.

Definitely a fun line up, but how NBA ready is Ingram? Are you suggesting a sort of new school San Antonio where the rookie and the star make a finals run in year one? Or are you dreaming about our future? Because I'm pretty sure that Durant wants to win now, and a player like Butler seems like a more attractive teammate than any rookie from KD's perspective.

Perhaps if we got lucky and drafted Ingram and didn't trade the pick, we could still sign Horford to get the ball rolling in terms of veteran teammates for Durant like jpotter just said, but even still, it seems like Crowder would be starting at the 3 in that scenario.

Hey potter- any chance J stands for Jaime?
Truuuuuuuuuth!

I want to win now and later. Ingram could come in right now and Avg 14ppg, maybe more depending on how fast he learns, but he's a future 20ppg guy all day long.

I'm all for signing Horford too, just felt like that was greedy.

same

if we do get lucky and get the #1 or #2 pick with an option of Simmons and Ingram, imagine Danny's sales pitch to Durant/Horford

Hey listen, we can get Horford/Durant here, if you sign here so you guys can play together, on top of that, we also have the #1/2 pick to draft this player or we can trade it for another star.

You (Durant/Horford) Isaiah Thomas can be the Celtics new big 3. You get to be part of something special, and when you retire you can pass the torch to Simmons/Ingram. Or we can have a big 4 and trade the draft pick.

On top of that, you have a brilliant coach in Stevens, look what he has done with this current team, and imagine yourself as the missing piece to our puzzle

I suppose we could still go for Cousins, right? I imagine Bradley, Smart, and the BKN pick would get it done (too much for some, I know). Small ball would then be ancient history with:

Cousins
Horford
Durant
Crowder
IT

Teams will want to be like us, not GSW. I suppose a move for Butler might make more sense and may not be as 'expensive.' We still need to match salary, though, and Crowder needs to stay.

Having Durant, Ingram and crowder all on the same team doesn't make sense
As they all play best as SF

One would need to be benched
Probably Ingram because he's a rookie that needs to prove himself which harms his development
The best team I can think of would be

C- Olynyk
PF- Durant
SF- Crowder
SG- Bradley
PG - Thomas

The reason I put Ingram on bench
Is he needs the ball in his hands
And having him share playing time with Durant and Thomas
2 of the best ball dominant shot creators, would take from his game

Bradley, crowder and olynyk are in there as they work well offball
Main weakness would be rebounds

 That's 100% wrong IMO.

Ingram could end up a two guard, and can play three positions in the NBA. Durant can play 3through 5 offensively.

Crowder can play two positions as well.

The only way Durant does come to Boston is if we sign Horford.  Plus honestly if we sign Durant, Ingram becomes a waste to a degree.  Durant won't want to player the power forward or center.  So honestly the best case scenario would be if we get Ben Simmons.  I say this for this reason, of what our line up would be.  Also the Pelicans have been talked about trading down to add picks.  If this is true trading the Dallas and our 2016 Boston pick and a couple 2nd round picks.  We move up to the 6th spot and take Buddy Hield.

Starting Five
Center - Horford
Power Forward - Simmons
Small Forward - Durant
Shooting Guard - Bradley
Point Guard - Thomas

Bench Five
Center - KO
Power Forward - Mickey
Small Forward - Crowder
Shooting Guard - Hield
Point Guard - Smart

Hunter
Rozier
Insert free agents that will come cheap.

That would be an awesome team no doubt TP.

I'd still prefer Horford and Ingram though with Durant. Looking term it would work.

What if we instead, trade both the 2016 and 2018 Brooklyn picks to Sacramento for Cousins then sign him to a max deal.

On draft day, trade our own draft pick #15 and the rights to swap 1st round picks with Brooklyn in 2017 to jump up to the #10 slot n draft Scal Labissiere.

Sign free agent Al Horford to protect the rim beside Cousins n let Sully walk.

Sign Free Agent Kevin Martin for a perimeter shot.

This should lure in Kevin Durrant to Mentor Labissiere who can be the same player Ingram can be at a cheaper rate.

Keep the core intact with Isaiah, Bradley, Smart, Crowder and Hunter/Roizer, Amir, Olynyk...

I can just imagine what this lineup could do for the next 6 to 8 years... Greedy ? Yes but that's how the Celtics got here...

Starting 5
Horford C (when playing big) Crowder F (when playing small)
Cousins PF
Durrant SF
Martin SG (when playing big) Bradley SG (when playing small)
I. Thomas PG (when playing small) Smart PG (when playing big)

Bench
Amir C
Olynyk PF
Smart PG
Labissiere SF
Crowder F
Bradley SG
Hunter F
Rozier G

BIG
Horford C
Cousins PF
Durrant SF
Martin SG
Smart PG

SMALL
Crowder F
Cousins PF
Durrant SF
Bradley SG
I. Thomas PG
