The 3 is the most important position in basketball right now, by far... we have 1 guy who plays that position.

Yeah, just like how KG was our most valuable Celtic even though Rondo and Paul were better players later on.

Just a result of backup SF/small PF being our largest weakness, and not having Jerebko only makes it worse.

Coincidentally backup PG also happens to be our strongest position, as Smart and Turner are 2 of our top 5 players.

I kinda disagree with this. IMO Smart is a guard but I would not call him a PG or a ballhanlder.

As for Turner, he can bring the ball down the court but he is more of a point forward than anything else.

Moreover, neither of them can be effective on the PnR as their perimeter shooting is bad.

Again IMO our sole backup PG is Rozier.

Regardless of semantics, one could easily argue AB/Smart/Crowder on the perimeter is better than IT/AB/Smart.

The perimeter shooting is actually better, the defense is ENORMOUSLY better, and if you want to accept the small downgrade in shooting from Smart to Turner, you have an amazing pick and roll player, who's almost in the same ballpark as Isaiah (and if you think AB/Smart/Crowder can't be effective in the pick and roll, you don't give them enough credit).

Against a large/premier SF like Durant and George, it's pretty much a landslide victory.

With IT gone, we'd have no PG, and we know that AB is not good as PG from the games after RR tore his ACL.

Our perimeter shooting and ball movement would suffer too without IT.

PS I really do not get how you reached the conclusion that we shoot better with Crowder instead of IT. Care to explain?

PS On a more serious note, CBS does not even think in terms of 1,2,3 etc but rather wings, bigs, ballhandlers and swings.
