He's extremely valuable and a borderline all-star, but there's no way it's not IT. When IT is on the bench, the offense is just awful.

Agree or disagree?

Considering he is our only true 3, yes I agree. If we had some depth in the position like we do at guard I think we could argue between him and IT.
His on the court toughness is also crucial, I think the team listens and respects him.. He is sort of the unmarked leader of the team.

He's clearly the Celtics' best all around player, but I don't think he is the most valuable. Kinda similar to GSW but on a much lesser extreme. Green is clearly the best all around player on GSW, but he is definitely not the most valuable. IT makes the whole Celtics' offense tick. Without him, the whole thing would fall apart. Similarly the defense of the Celtics would take a huge setback without Crowder. Could be more of a 1a and 1b situation.

rather, when IT is on the bench and both olly and crowder are injured the offense is just awful.

It's either him or IT4.  You could make a compelling argument for either, IMO.

Agreed....cause he effects the game on both sides of the floor...He usually has to guard the other team's Best player too.

But, it's sad when he's our best player---we really have great chemistry and coach---because we do not have a lot of actual talent on this team.

Most valuable in terms of the best individual player, maybe not, but most valuable in terms of hardest to replace, I'd say yes.  He's the most indispensable.

Crowder more valuable over 80-100 games, Isaiah Thomas more valuable in a playoff series or in crunch team. Ultimately, Isaiah's offensive superiority in those situations trumps Crowder's two-way versatility over a sustained period. Unless Crowder can take another leap, which I think could very realistically happen.

Two way players are super important.

IT isn't Steve Nash, hard to be the most valuable unless you are that level at your one end. Or KG defensively once his offense declined after his injury.

It depends on what Mannix means by probably most valuable, and having listened to the audio it is not clear.

If he means which Celtics player other teams would like to have, then yes, it's Crowder. He could fit most rosters bcs he is versatile and can play different positions.

If, however, we are talking about which player's absence would hurt most the team, I'd go with IT, altho this is clearly very close. Without Crowder we are in trouble, but part of the reason is that we are very thin at the 3.

Without IT, we'd be in similar if not greater trouble, although we have other ball-handlers. 21.9 pts and 6.6 assists per game cannot be replaced no matter who takes his mins.

IT might not be as popular with the scouts as Crowder: he can only play the PG and many teams are covered on this spot. But he still is the player that makes our offence work (and his D too has improved this season).

Honestly, I would have to say yes.

He and Bradley are really the only two guys on this team who are capable of carrying the team on both ends of the floor with consistency - and I feel Crowder does it more consistently on both ends then Bradley is.

Thomas impacts us massively on offense, but some of that is offset by his defensive limitations - still a big net positive, but not as much as a guy like Crowder who has a major positive impact on both ends.

Yes, you could argue the same about Olynyk and Sully but I wouldn't say either of those guys has a consistent impact on both ends - both have really good offensive games here and there, mixed in with just as many not-so-good ones...while I feel Sully's defense is also come and go.

Crowder though is one of our top scorers almost every night, and he is almost always our best defensive player.

tp and I agree but you do have to add in that crowder generally also guards the opposing teams best offensive wing player
Isiah isn't a liability on defense but he does have limitations no matter how hard he works
