I'd still give anything for Cousins. On a good team he's an MVP candidate.

Someone mentioned a three-team trade in which Boston ended up with Cousins and Durant ... if Danny can pull that off while keeping IT, that would be amazing.

We'd have to lose Marcus Smart, Avery Bradley, Jae Crowder, Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk for that matter

It wouldn't make sense to give up assets for Durant in a sign-and-trade scenario, because we could simply sign him outright after trading for Cousins.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Don't Cousins and Durant hate each other?
I think getting Cousins here would out a lot of players off coming here as free agents tbh.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

if you're the knicks you trade Porzingis yesterday for Cousins...if they plan on keeping Anthony around.

I still don't think we'd be able to compete with what other teams have to offer. yeah we have plenty of draft picks but no good established young talent outside of Smart, and while I like Smart if I'm Sacramento he's not enough even with the draft picks. I think danny would have to get awfully creative to make it happen. maybe if OKC blows it up, maybe we could work it to where Sac gets Westbrook and we get Durant and Cousins...

That definitely makes sense, which is why the Knicks won't do it lol However, I think we have the right fit and assets to be just as competitive as any other team in the market.

Phil is the GM though.
I think the wise move for NYK is to deal Melo and build around KP. I think they try to move melt this offseason.

knicks will never do it, even if it's the right thing to do. because they feel the New York fans don't have the patience to build a young team. they'll trade Porzingis for some established talent like Cousins before they ever consider building around Porzingis.

The guy from the Sacramento Bee isn't wrong. Boogie will never mature there. They have to clean house.

The Knicks still need to give up more other than just Porzingis.

Are you referring to the little shoving match that they had a couple of weeks ago? I did a quick google search, and that was the only thing that I could find, which doesn't seem like something that would stop Durant from coming here.

However, I have to say that though Durant is the better player, a focused Cousins would probably be ultimately better for our team due to the fact that he'd help fill more holes than Durant. Durant would bring much needed scoring to the group, especially crunch-time scoring, and size and rebounding from the wing position, but Cousins would bring scoring, interior defense, size, and rebounding from a position that we need it more from - our center position.

Don't get me wrong - Durant is clearly the better player. But I think if we had to choose which player would benefit this team more right now, an excellent argument could be made for Cousins due solely to being the two-way big that we've been looking for for 5+ years now.

EDIT: Also, who in the East could stop Cousins down low? Whiteside? Horford? Whiteside is more of a weak-side blocker than an individual post defender, and I'm a big Horford fan, but I just don't think he could physically stop Demarcus down low, especially given his age and injury history.

I'd move the Mavs pick. Not Brooklyn. This dude hasn't done anything to deserve trust. The Celtics don't have the talent or veteran leadership to reign in cousins. If Pierce and kg were here than im all about it but no one on the roster or coaching staff has the credibility to command cousins respect and attention. It's a big risk with a potential big reward.

Bring him in and one of two things will happen...he'd either take this team to its next title - or destroy it.

What bugs me about him is every time I've seen him play the Celtics he's quit...especially on defense.  I know he's got talent and you can say CBS will be able to reach him or the culture here will turn him around.  But bring him in and he'll be the alpha dog and that could change everything.

Great players don't quit and I've seen him do it way too many times.  The talent is undeniable, but he might be totally uncoachable.

Cousins and Brad Stevens would be a really fascinating pairing to watch next season.

Am I the only one who thinks Mickey and Cousins would be the perfect front court pairing?
