Evan. Turner will not be signing here for $5 million a year or less. People thinking we can resign a player of the caliber of Evan Turner for current MLE money or less are fooling themselves. With the new cap in the $92 million range an MLE player is now worth somewhere around $9 million a year. Turner will get north of that though not much more. I can see him getting $10 million a year for 4 years or more.

I'd be happy with Turner at a value of around 6-8 MM for a long period of time. If he wants more than that it better be a contract short in years.

Sign him to a deal similar to Amir that preserves our cap space for 2017 where he gets additional dollars now in exchange for less long term security.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Somebody will give Turner a bunch of money, maybe starter money.  He's a sixth man and probably best when he's "underpaid" and feels he has to prove and earn his role.  I hope the Celts stay away if anybody makes Turner a big offer.

He's been one of our best players in two years.  Yes, bring him back.  Danny's right...he's single-handedly won games for us.  I like the guy.  Bring him back.

Having Crowder and Turner as the backup sf, doesnt really help us to better and greater things

If Turner gets rocked in the next few games vs big gun sfs while crowder is away/and or we can't win at least 2-3 playoff games, necessary changes/subtractions/additions are required

Not all on Turner but he is not tied here long term and the org has options

If that's true, let him walk.

I'm still really puzzled by the dislike of Evan Turner around here.  He's been one of our best players over the past two years.  He does a little of everything.  In the 11 games since the all-star break he's averaging 11 points, 5 assists, 5.6 rebounds, 1.6 steals with 48%/50%/71% shooting and yet I keep seeing articles about how we need to let him walk at the end of the year.

I get that if we are signing two max contracts (Durant and Horford), a guy like Turner might be the odd man out, but he deserves respect.

Makes zero sense, especially given his role as a 6th/7th man leading the 2nd unit offense, and his clutch scoring.  He is perfect for this role and thus this team.

I think it all depends on the circumstances next summer.  People are right that Turner gets overly criticized.  But, most people also agree on the following:

1) We need another scoring wing.

2) Marcus Smart needs more time and responsibility to develop.

3) This team needs cap space to sign stars.

So my question is, where does Turner fit in?

Now sure, if we happen to land a Horford or Love, draft a big, and/or trade Bradley or Crowder in a larger deal, Turner makes some sense.

But if we draft yet another wing and/or sign one and hold on to everyone we have, I just don't see the value Turner has to this team.  And that's not even getting into the possibility of wanting to give Rozier, Hunter, and/or Young a shot at minutes.

I agree 100%.

He has been the undisputed leader of our second unit and should be a legit candidate for Sixth man of the year.   He has won us countless games with:

1) His clutch play
2) His ability to carry the team when Thomas sits

His role has been critical to the Celtic's success this year.

I think he is a keeper, nice bench guy!  Maybe a starter the next few games.

Turner has value in part due to his versatility to play the 2 or 3 and even some 1. Even if they somehow acquire a scoring wing and that guy is the starting SF with Crowder backing him up, Turner can still be sixth or seventh man and fit in either way in the rotations.

As others have stated Turner has been one of our most valuable players the last two years, he versatile, hits big shots and is an entertaining interview  :o
It will all depend on money for Turner and going to other players.  Pretty much our entire team is tradable it really depends on ALL the X factors!
Ps-I vote for. Resigning Turner, sign and trade sully

If I could give you 2 reasons the C's are 3rd in the East this year, I would say it's because we limit turnovers on offense and force opponents to turn the ball over and take bad shots on defense. How is Turner a vital piece of that?

Ok, that all sounds nice and makes sense in abstract terms. But give me a scenario where Thomas, Bradley, Crowder, and Smart stay AND we add another wing via the draft or free agency AND Evan Turner still has a role.

As I said, I don't doubt he is a good player, nor do I doubt that he could help. But if this team develops how most of us would like to see it, I don't see his place here.
