The Boston Celtics would like to re-sign Evan Turner in the offseason.

Turner is averaging 10 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and a career-best 44.9 percent shooting in 27 minutes per game.

“As you know I’m a fan of Evan and I think he’s had a really good year,” Danny Ainge said. “I think he’s had a good two years [with the Celtics]. He won a lot of games for us. Down the stretch of games, he’s a good guy to have on your team, he’s a versatile player. He plays multiple positions.”

When asked if he’d like to re-sign Turner, Ainge said: “Yes. We’re big fans of Evan. I think Evan likes us and we like him.”

which raises and interesting question in my mind. assuming due to cap space, signings, etc. that the celtics only have enough room for EITHER sully or turner, which of the two do you prefer the celtics to keep?
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I thought that he was our mvp last season.

This year he's one of the best 6th men in the league.

Hope to see him back.

turner is having a great second half of the season for us, no doubt, his future in boston depends on a lot of factors, of witch the main ones are:
1. are we able to convince Durrant, Harford ets to sign
2. what type of a deal he is searching for(IMHO 3 year 15 mil would be max.)

is it comes down to sully or evan, it's a no brainer, Sully, the whole 300 pounds of him

if i was the GM i wouldn't sign evan because rozier and smart, they need his minutes

Starting to think "move smart". I hate myself for thinking like this, but Turner has become the primary ball handler, and I think it's best if we don't stunt smart's development. Might be best to package him in a deal for a star while he still have good value
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I'm still really puzzled by the dislike of Evan Turner around here.  He's been one of our best players over the past two years.  He does a little of everything.  In the 11 games since the all-star break he's averaging 11 points, 5 assists, 5.6 rebounds, 1.6 steals with 48%/50%/71% shooting and yet I keep seeing articles about how we need to let him walk at the end of the year.

I get that if we are signing two max contracts (Durant and Horford), a guy like Turner might be the odd man out, but he deserves respect.

And if Turner is willing to sign for no more than the Early Bird level, this is possible.  Otherwise, not so much.

I don't understand this idea, that if we can sign whomever we want to Turner is gone. If anything FA luck will help Turners stay. He can play 3 positions.

I strongly agree with LB33 on this. Turner has been clearly one of our best players over the past 2 seasons, and a big part of our success. He is very versatile, the type of player both CBS and Ainge love. I don't understand the dislike for him on here, we should be happy to have him , and to sign him long term. He won't break the bank, but there is no reason to low-ball him either, he has earned a good contract. There are plenty of other players to cut loose if we want to sign two max free agents.

I Hope we have that problem of max contracts. But i see Him staying as well. He is a perfect 7 man.
