  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
So let's say we get a little unlucky and the Nets pick ends up #5 or #6.
Bender and Jaylen Brown are both gone, so which one of these guys do you take with pick #5 or #6?

Who's your guy and why?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I love Buddy Hield. He can shoot and score. We need scorers and shooters. He also has the obsessive work ethic necessary to succeed in the NBA.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

I probably trade the pick.

Poeltl is really the only one whose not redundant and I think he's the worst prospect of the 4.

I like Heild a lot. Haven't looked at Murray much but the recent threads on him have gotten me intrigued and Dunn looks very nice (but with Rozier Thomas and Smart I'm not sure he makes much sense)

Maybe send the pick to Philly?

We are Blessed to have a chance to draft Poeltl.

If there is not a star in the making available, be scary and take Jakob.

Defensively he fits the Celtics perfectly, he can switch and guard both big positions on the Pick n Roll, watching the game now And Poelt just switched onto Jaylen Brown and Jakob forced him to miss.

On Offense Poeltl never forces shots, is an excellent passer, and causes double teams down Low, and like KG he would rather pass and when he does shoot he never misses Top 5 in College for fg% at .650% and still scores 17ppg.

Think about how perfect a fit that description is for our team.

I take Buddy Heild. He's NBA ready and can flat out score the basketball. He'd be an impact player off our bench and provide us much needed second unit scoring/shooting.

Buddy Hield or maybe Denzel Valentine (Depends on whether Valentine would be available during our second pick in the first round). Those two guys could provide a good offensive punch from the bench, which I kind of expected from Young when we drafted him. Furthermore, those two guys would also make Young expendable, which is why we maybe could swing him to another team during the draft ::)
Jack of all trades, master of none.

That would be way too early to take Valentine at 5-6.  Most mocks have in the mid teens, I look for Ainge to try to move up with some of the picks as we can't have 20 guys on the team.

I think Lab, would be better served by playing another year in school.

i dont even think bender is going to be a top 10 pick. Skill wise, Buddy is the best out of all those players.

Buddy's my choice too. I think he could be helpful right away off the bench, but I also think he has a very high ceiling. I get that he is a senior but his ability to score from anywhere, on top of what I would call "the clutch gene", I would jump all over him at 5 or 6. We need someone to give the ball to who isn't named IT in crunch time (love you Turner, but i think it's his last year). Plus the league has become more guard-centric/shooter-heavy, so a 6' 4" guard isn't quite the detriment it was 5 or 6 years ago.  Do you think his ceiling is a bench talent or do you think he can start for us in a few years? Because I agree he could help us right away, but I also think he has some Dwayne Wade in him. I LOVE his fire.  Murray would be my second choice.

Agreed, though both might be off the board at 6.
