We're setting ourselves up for another 8th spot sweep at the hands of Cleveland

Probably not, but a 5 or 6 game out in the 1st round against Miami or Atlanta as the 6th seed seems plausible at the moment.

16 20 vs .500 Teams says it all.

Last 8 losses this team has allowed 116 points per game. That is not going to get it done.

Cherry-pick all you want.....

7th in point differential, and 1 point within 2 of those teams.

That should say it all.

Anyone who thinks a Celtics loss in the 1st round is more likely than unlikely, obviously doesn't understand power rankings.

Just because we don't have a winning record vs. .500 teams, doesn't mean we haven't "been in the game" with those teams more often than other teams (who have gotten blown out by top teams more often than us).
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Grizzlies
Rockets
Pacers
Thunder
Raptors

While I acknowledge we've played well enough to earn our current position, I also acknowledge the fact that the teams we're ahead of have either stumbled or dealt with injuries. And I tend to believe that is the major contributor to our position.

They have a chance to prove me wrong. these are all playoff teams with length and athleticism...something we struggle against, something we'll see plenty of in the playoffs.

So no excuses imo. It's now or never.

Grizzlies have injuries and are tanking now
Rockets are rising but not playing like last year
Thunder are playing poorly due to off court issues unrelated to basketball

Only real teams are Pacers and raptors

We win grizz
Lose rest

Here is more picking.
Team does not have a Center or Power Forward that can score or play Defense in the paint. Not to mention the lack of a 3 point shooter. But we already know these things.

Don't drink the Kool-Aid and think this Team with more seasoning this year or next is anything special. Its a .500 Team that will be swept again in Round 1.

Well that statement is wrong. We have several bigs who can score. Sully and Kelly are big offensive weapons for us during a lot of games. And I believe Sully has proved he can step up defensively this year, he's put in many solid performances against the better bigs in the league.
We do lack consistent 3 point shooting. It is the biggest weakness of our offense. Luckily we are great are generating turnovers and creating fast break opportunities. We are also a very good offensive rebounding team despite our lack of size in the paint.
This team has come on leaps and bounds this year. Not yet a contender but good enough to cause some distress to the incumbent contenders and build some needed experience for future years

We peaked to early in the season. We are fading a little bit and with no Crowder it's really magnified.

Having your best player and only actual SF injured is a problem. This is not a surprise. I could easily see us losing out all of our games without Crowder.

That shouldn't take away from the fact that this is still a good team that should be favored in any 3-6 seed first round match-up though.

your last paragraph is one of the biggest problems this group has. you are right in that they are great in generating turnovers...the problem(like you stated) is if they don't shoot well early on they don't bother playing defense. that has been a trend all year.

The next 5 games are just 5 games out of 82. Nothing special.

Smell the coffee. This Team at the moment has many weaknesses. Crowder is a good player but vs .500 or better clubs, he like the rest are exposed.

16 21 vs .500 teams. Thanks Danny, you haven't made a bad deal yet.

If Crowder is the difference between finishing as a 3rd seed or an 8th seed or worse. This franchise is worse off than you all think...

Thanks Danny!
