  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
He is probably on the phone with Larry Sanders' agent everyday just begging him to come back for a couple of short months. The other players available aren't that exciting as we have so much depth as it is, but a tall, athletic, defensive guy like Sanders would add another dimension to our team.

Don't worry rollie mass, Ray Allen is going to sign this week to help spread the floor end scare opponents in the playoffs.  ;)

Guys like Joe Johnson and Kevin Martin aren't going to want to play for the Celtics because they want playing time to help maximize their next contract and they would be in danger of getting a bunch of playoff DNPs with the Celtics.

Since any pickup is unlikely to play, Ainge can wait and not fill the roster spot until the last minute, seeing if anyone gets injured and he needs to get some emergency depth at a certain specific position.
