Chicago is set to go into a rebuild mode. I can see DA doing a trade for Butler that would expidited the rebuild in Chicago. Like Young, Hunter, Brk, Dal, and Bos pick for Butler
I'd love to see Butler on the Celtics, next to his old college teammate Crowder. He would fit in perfectly with this team.

That's not enough for Chicago to move him though. I think they would want Smart, Bradley or a future Brooklyn pick in addition to what you suggested.

I agree. They def want a mix of players and the high 1st picks

Danny won't give up smart for him. Nor his fav AB

The Bulls are def stuck.  They don't have the picks (or pick in late teens). , gasol is on his way out, rose is iffy.  Youth movement is weak

We might be able to grab Butler for the Nets, mavs 1st , 2nds + jerebko, amir
He would give up AB because IT, AB, Smart, Crowder and Butler puts 2 of those guys on the bench. He would give up AB in a second.

The package you list has no chance. No where near enough value for an all star in his prime with a long term contract. The Mavs pick and the 2 players have negligible value compared to Butler. The #3 pick also has less value than Butler and it is more likely we end up lower at #5. We got Ray Allen for a #5, but that was a situation with an older player coming off ankle surgery that they wanted to move after a 31 win season. They also let Lewis walk because they didn't see either guy in their future.

Butler is the kind of guy you see in your future. We would have to offer good value to get him because other teams will offer value. Keep in mind that SG is no longer a stacked position in the NBA like it once was. PG is now the stacked position. Butler would be a significant upgrade to most NBA teams.

I don't know about that, if Danny wants Butler and the asking is Bradley and a couple of first, I think he will pull that trigger in a heart beat, as much as he loves Butler.

I don't see how CBS can manage the guard minutes with

IT/Smart/Bradley/Butler, throw Turner in there as well since he carries the ball a lot of times.

I want to try to keep Smart as much as possible, since his defense does change the pace of the game.

I mean what is the pt of grabbing Butler and give up AB. We are better but not enough. Ab is a big part of the team

He can guard Curry , Irving etc.  Butler can't

Nets 1st, mavs 1st bunch of 2nds, jerebko, Rozier or Hunter and amir should do it (this is actually a generous package imo)

Another options is giving away Rozier, Young and/or RJ for pennies. It hurts to give up on young players, but frankly these guys will probably all bust--especially Young and Rozier. Send them somewhere that they'll actually get an opportunity to crack the rotation, and use precious roster spots/playing time to roll the dice on a new crop of rookies.

HUH ?  Especially Rozier ?

No way.  I think you're wrong on him.  He's far from Bust potential in my opinion.  He's got all the talent in the world to be great in this league.

Continue the development, that's what I'd say.
