Predicting the final record

I know there was a tread about this but it's burried pretty deep and I couldn't dig it up.

The team has 21 games left to play.
By my reckoning it's not the toughest schedule. We do play Cleveland, OKC, and GS once and Toronto twice.

If we loose all of those, throw in 2 or 3 unaccountable losses to fair or inferior squads that's 8 losses and 13 wins. That's a winning percentage of 619, a hair better than the season average and gets us to 49 wins.

I say we go 2 and 3 against  Cleveland, OKC, GS and Toronto and loose 3 against the rest.

That puts us at 15 and 6 the rest of the way. Good for 51 wins on the season. This would mean we play at a .714 clip the rest of the way, a significant uptick on our winning percentage over the whole season but the team is clicking on all cylinders and the remaining schedule is fairly soft so I think it's achievable.
 Be interested to hear what others think will be our final record.

Also, how many wins do you think we need to get to keep the 3rd seed? I would say we need to get to 46 wins. That seems pretty safe.

I predicted 47 wins before the season.  That seems like the floor now.  Not sure if we'll get to 50 but we'll be close for sure.

Not that this changes your 13-8 prediction but you see us losing at home to Portland tomorrow night but winning in Portland later in the year?

I assume it's because you think Portland is red hot right now, but Celt's are also playing good ball and have regained somewhat of a home court advantage.

You got it. Portland is arguably the hottest team in the league right now. They're run includes a dominating performance over Golden State. I think we are going to get beat bad tomorrow and go into Portland hungry for revenge. 

I also like how this team responds to losses. Coming off an L to the Clips on Monday will give them extra motivation in practice to beat the Blazers on a Thursday.

13-8 puts us at 49 wins. They only need to go 10-11 the rest of the way to win 46 games.

I think there is a small chance that we win 50 games. I think we could win the Pacers game or both of the Portland games so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

For what it's worth I think we win our next two games and keep the home winning streak going.

Portland will be playing their 4th road game in 5 nights when they come to town tomorrow.  Celtics having great success on 2nd night of b2bs proves it's not a death sentence, but still I like our chances tomorrow.

Wish it was on national TV so more people could watch 2 hot hungry teams go at it.

I'm going to the game tomorrow night (bought these tickets in early January) so they better not lose. Not after the last few home games we've seen.

I think the games against the pacers, clips and Hawks are 50/50
Also I think we can take one against the Cavs or Toronto
If we go 2 and 4 in those games and the rest plays out as you outlined we are at 51 wins.

That's pretty attainable.
