Both guys are considered big time scorers.   Both are considered top 3 pt shooters. Hield is in better condition , more explosive and better defender.   Hield is a senior though and Murray is  younger.   Murray has a bigger frame

If we have the 5th pick and both are available, who would you pick and why?

guessing if one of these guys are picked,  Turner won't need to be brought back and makes one of Hunter/Young expendable

I worry about Murray's first step but I'm starting to think his ability to change speeds, and score in crafty ways will translate to the NBA.

I also love Hield but he's 22 and Murray is 19. Got to go with the youth.

If those two are the best available when we pick I hope we try to trade the pick

Jaylen brown please.... he only needs to fix his shot... better drive, strength, defence... we have more than enough guards

At #5 I'd take either Brown, Dunn or Bender. Forced to choose between Hield or Murray, I'd take Murray and his superior overall skill level at a younger age. But he does unfortunately remind me of Nik Stauskas, so I'm a bit conflicted. Tough choice.

Murray is a slightly better shooter than Stauskas, bigger frame but otherwise I do see where you're coming from

I don't expect Brown or Bender to be available.

I like his defense and I like his passing. However, I think our biggest need long term is a clutch scorer, and I project Murray more likely to be that player than Dunn.

if we get the 5th pick that mean someone jumped us in the lottery which would tick me off.

If we get #5, I highly suspect it'll get used in a trade for an established all-star level player that a team needs to move.

No lol. When Stauskas came out, he was considered the best shooter in the draft.

Tough call, but I'm leaning Hield since I'm worried that Murray will just be a gunner at the NBA level.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

maybe.  But man in those clips, turning the corner and then fading away to nail those threes is impressive

a few times he does does, the defender starts to worry and suddenly Murray's 1st step is more devastating than it is

with better conditioning I think his peak could be a slightly shorter Klay Thompson. Wide frame and pretty good athlete also.

you know hield was actually a good slasher in his first few years. Last year was too 3 pt shooting happy. This year has put it together

Murray has time to develop his game further. But is already considered a big time scorer and clutch performer for such a young age.

Not taking either at 5. My 5 is Simmons, Ingram, bender, poeltl, brown.

As for comparing the two I take Hield with the understanding that Murray has a higher ceiling. I think Hield is a going to come tight in and average 12+ppg is given at least 20 mpg. Murray will take time to adjust to Nba defenses and I worry the elites like our own Smart and Bradley would smoother Murray.
