No FAs I want other than Hordford and even then my max would be 16 million per year for 4 years.
I wouldnt mind resigning Zeller and the just drafting bigs. There are a boat load this draft Zimmer, Brimah, Onuaku, Poeltl, Hammon, Stone the list goes on.
okay, you wouldn't do it, that is your opinion, but have you seen the deals done this off season, ex. Kanter, Johnson etc.
Imagine us getting Horford and Durrant...that is a 5-6 years championship window
I honestly believe Hordford doesn't get KD here. If it was Cousins C's were getting that is the kind of level player that could attract KD.

Forget Big Al, you're better of paying Sully.

I'd say the top FA target should be Horford.  Try to get him for 3 years at max money.

Aside from that, the Celts should see if they can add a couple guys like Dudley and Casspi.  Really need some experienced size and shooting on the bench.

Combine that with a move on draft day to combine picks and some of the younger players to add a star prospect or trade for a more established player, and the Celts could be ready to make some noise next year.

I'd stay away from Noah (can't trust his health), Pau (too old), Whiteside (don't trust him, period), and Howard (not a good fit off-court).
Pretty much agree with this, although I would take a flier on Dwight if it was for short years and we struck out on Horford. Also I'd only want Dwight or Whiteside if we commit to starting Olynyk next to them or draft a stretch 4 who could knock down 3's next to them.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Everyone is poo-pooing our chances of getting Durant, but I don't think the odds are zero. Everything would have to go right, of course. The biggest thing is that he'd have to decide to leave OKC, and the most likely thing is that he'll say. But imagine the following scenario:

1. OKC gets trounced in the playoffs. Durant realizes that he can't win a title with OKC, what with the Spurs and W's in the same conference.
2. He decides not to go to the Warriors, where he could win a lot but won't get much credit for merely perpetuating the dominance of an already-dominant team.
3. C's make a run the the ECF and take the Cavs to 6 games in a competitive series. They sign Horford, bring in a promising rookie with the Nets pick, and convince Durant that they offer him his best chance to lead a team to the Finals, both now and in the future.

If I was Kevin Durant, I'd choose Boston.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Love the C's but I'd go to New Orleans

Interesting.  Depending on who Sota ends up with this draft, I'd maybe consider going there if it was a purely talent-based decision.  That team has a chance to be insanely good.  Towns will be better than Davis, imo and they have tons of extra assets (like Levine) that could be packaged for a 5th star alongside Wiggins, Durant, Towns and... maybe Simmons.  Good lord.

But yeah, I'd say that Durant should strongly consider coming to Boston for a number of reasons and I fully expect him to take a meeting from Ainge/Wyc/Stevens if he decides to actually test the market.

Yeah I agree the chances are not 0. I do think him even meeting with us is probably contingent on us signing Horford as well.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think if you were elected President you'd move the Whitehouse to Boston.  ;)

Give Whiteside the Max. Only his second year of getting serious playing time so I'm not too worried about his defensive player rankings.

Would also be a nice fit if we have Crowder at the four.

Marc Gasol is signed through 2018-19 at 21.2M, 22.6M & 24.1M and he has a player option for 2019-20 at 25.6M.

He won't be a free agent for a while.

I think Kelly's greatest value is playing as a stretch 5 off the bench.  Bringing in a three point shooter at center gives opposing teams major matchup issues, and Kelly is less likely to get abused on defense when he's playing against bench lineups.

Two of the players mentioned have the potential to take us to the next level. Horford- whom we might as well get- and ... the other guy: I would not go as far as saying our chances of getting him are 0, but we are not a top destination either. Fingers crossed.

About the rest: we are not talking of transcendent players but of valuable additions to the bench. If we could get one of them for cheap, yes. Eg Pau for two years on a 7 mill contract.

Per Whiteside et al, if the choice were up to me, I would pay more attention to the interview with the player than the league rumours- it's clear he has rubbed Miami's veterans the wrong way, but I could care less about their opinion.

Last, Howard, we all know he will ask far more than he is really worth, pass
