last night in brooklyn loss lopez played 40 minutes
seems like a desperate move to play oft injured player
but to what end,an attempt to win two straight
pump up his value only to wear him out or get him injured-
in the end they may win a couple extra but if he goes down-it will be worth it for celts
nba has no right to censure a flop when 4-5 teams are flopping big time and some for years
was brooklyn use of lopez 40minutes to win and draw back fans and make it a destination for free agents-like the old days

I've given up hope that Lopez gets injured this year.  I think his foot will be ok for at least the rest of the year.  That 40minute game would have made me smile a little bit a couple months ago though.

If he gets worn down and injured next year or the year after, it still helps us. Brooklyn Nets, the gift that keeps on giving.

Very true.  I think his foot will be starting from scratch next year though after a summer off.

Lopez has had two major injuries in his 8 year career where he missed the vast majority of two seasons.  His other 5 seasons (before this year) he never played less than 72 games (74 and his first three seasons he was at 82 in each).  He is obviously on pace for that year as he hasn't missed a game.

This isn't a guy like Shaq that was always lucky to even play 70 games in a year.  Lopez had two distinct injuries but has otherwise been pretty darn healthy.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I'm confident BKN will be sellers at the draft. This way they avoid giving the Cs too much value in regards to this year's pick. Next year is a different story but the Nets have no motivation to help a division rival anymore than they already have.
Long-form is far from dead, but please refrain from paragraph-laden posts! Who wants to read that?!

I thought this topic was going to be about offering Boston's pick for Lopez.

having broached that subject, any thoughts on offering a combination of the Boston pick/Dallas pick/Young/Hunter/Mickey/multitude-of-seconds for Lopez in the offseason?

was initially against a similar proposal earlier this year but having seen Lopez last this long without an injury this year has piqued my curiosity.
