I thought everyone was terrible last night. Just a awful showing. I was hoping CBS would put Rozier, Hunter, young, and Mickey in with like 6mins left and see what they could do.

arguably, key stretches lost the game, and he was part of it, mainly.

Brad gettin like Doc and not playing his rookies.  These guys should be seeing some more time especially Rj and Mickey so they can get a better feel for the game.

James young needs to get the **** outta dodge like three years ago.

One of the big myths of the Doc era was that he didn't play these rookies that supposedly deserved all these minutes.  Let's keep in mind that most of the youngsters people pined for (Gabe Pruitt, Bill Walker, J.R. Gidden, etc.) amounted to nothing and totally justified their time on the bench.  And even the youngsters that Doc played never amounted to anything more than decent role players (Big Baby, Powe).

So I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that if any of the rookies would really be lighting up NBA starters, that Brad Stevens would be giving them minutes.

How can you know unless you play them?

Please do not say practice.   Practice is one thing, Bill Russell often did not play in practice, by your theory he would have never played.

By that token, you too could be our next superstar. The only thing that might be holding you back is not getting into an actual game.

don't expect this

CBS is a perfectionist. Every min the court counts for extra practice time/refine/perfect

You can't take a day off under this guy. This is overall a good thing but also on the otehr hand

the rookies don't get the proper opportunity

Exactly.  And that analogy is ridiculous.  We're talking about one of the top 10 players of all time who came into the league the 2nd overall pick after leading a relatively obscure school (SFU) to back to back NCAA championships (not to mention leading the 1956 U.S. Olympic Team to Gold).

Most of the players people have complained about not getting minutes have been late first round/early second round picks.  And my point about Doc is that in retrospect, he actually played pretty much everyone exactly what they should have played.  He gave guys like Tony Allen, Big Baby, and Leon Powe role player minutes, which is exactly what they turned out to be.  And he gave guys like Bill Walker, Gabe Pruitt, and J.R. Giddens no minutes because they turned out to be the scrubs that he thought they were.

I mean can anybody name anyone that Doc kept on the bench that ended up blossoming when he "broke free" of Doc's stifling environment towards rookies?

I think the same is true of anyone who thinks Brad Stevens is stifling our youngsters.  When the time comes when they're ready, he'll play them.

Sign me up to the play Mickey fan club if it means keeping Zeller on the bench.

I did really like the blocks.  He has impressive timing to block shots like the Hayward lay up out of the air at heights that seem above his reach.

Zeller was pretty bad last game.  Looked like how he did early in the year actually.  We really missed Olynyk.

No one took Lin, seriously, back in the day, yet he has turned it into a career.  Whiteside was found at an YMCA league.   It happens, but your example is a little extreme.  I am well past my playing years but doubt I could have made it in the NBA.  I did get scouted by Bob Huggins and got to meet him several times before I shattered my ankle.   It STILL TAKES ABILITY, I think, with emphasis, not shouting.

I think you need to play them a quarter against NBA competition.   They have been games we have been up 20 and they did not see the light of day.   That too is wrong.

Mickey is leading the NBA in blocks per 48 minutes at 16.

He could make a real impact for us, considering our lack of defensive minded bigs and Mickey's clear ability to alter/block shots.

No quibble with Mickey's promise, but there's no lack of defensive-minded bigs on the Boston Celtics, and more importantly no lack of bigs who get results on that end. I'm standing up for my guys here: Johnson, Olynyk, Jerebko, and especially Sullinger have all been outstanding this year.

Here's a question: is it possible for the second-ranked defense in the league to have bigs who don't get it done?  (No is the answer.)

We might very well have won against the TWolves if Brad sits Zeller and inserts Mickey for the final 4 minutes. a couple Towns blocks and the game was a lock.

KO's injury is gonna set us up for a 7th seed rematch with the Cavs and we all know how that went
