It looks like Sully gained weight over the all star break. Like seriously, will this guy ever stop eating?

Either his head has gotten smaller or his body has gotten bigger. Not sure which one.

Sully is what he is, he'll never condition himself properly. Why should he? He'll make millions just like he is. At 23 years old Sully is a career backup center. Too heavy, to cover all but the slowest power forwards. Too short to have an impact against the taller, longer centers in the league. He uses his bulk well, and has some skills, for that reason he's a decent short minute backup center.

Will he lead this team anywhere? yes... to the fridge.

The weight issue is a lost cause because Sully doesn't care. He likes basketball but loves eating. We have to accept it and move on.

Agree...but when, and if you sign him, realize just what your buying. Team friendly contract or gone.

I think he goes elsewhere in the post season.   How many times, we will put our trust in a guy with no discipline, who gains weight during the season?

I have an old Celtics calendar (when Sully was a rookie) still hanging , and he's so skinny in those pictures compared to now that he's almost unrecognizable (combined with the different hairstyle).  Literally ~30 pound difference.

I see it multiple times a day, and I'm always shocked, like, "Whoa!  The guy I watched play last night looks like he ate that Sullinger."

Let's just hope he doesn't start eating Subway to lose the weight (I know, I can't tell jokes).
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

The hopefull ones like myself gave up on him in september. His production is good (contract year) and he will be a good backup on limited minutes for contender teams.
I'm ok to sign him at a friendly contract (7 mil). But I think he will go somewhere else (hopefully).

I agree, the key will be what he asks for in the off season.

This thread surprised me. Not at that he isn't fat, but in the context that just during the game I was seeing Sullinger quite thinner than previously.

So that you saw him fatter has me curious.

I was suspecting that it might have something with the ESPN broadcast vs. the usual League Pass broadcast since he's looked quite fat there. And then suddenly first game from the break he looked thinner to me, at least on my TV with ESPN HD.

I won't be around to watch today's game though, would love to see how he looks again on the regular feed to compare apples to apples.

Sullinger made a big deal of his commitment to getting into shape. The royal we were fooled twice. First, that he was acknowledging a problem and working hard to solve it. Then he fooled me again when he was arguably our best player for a stretch at the beginning of the year. I dropped the royal we. Sullinger does not fit into this team one bit. The only way he could have done that is to get into shape or at least show that he is heading in that direction even if it takes a year or two to get there. Lots of people are overweight and have trouble losing it. I was willing to be patient.

Jackie MacMullan said Rondo was gone and she was right. I am saying Sully is gone, but I have no inside sources or even 1% of MacMullan's credibility. I am basically Emilio Estevez on a sports board.

I let him walk honestly. I think he had his shot and didn't make the most of it. You have to keep up a standard for the locker room. You want players that have basketball higher than food on their importantance list.

I would be very curious to actually see.  Last year he put on lots of weight in season and he appears to be at least no better if not a bit bigger over the course of this year.

I also don't mind Sully on a good deal but I think someone may pay him and I hope it's not us.  I much prefer Olynyk and hopefully we bring in a better big to take Sully's role/minutes.

I loved just about everything about rookie Sully.  He was great.  The best version of Sully I've seen.

Since that season everything has just gone downhill.   He still shows flashes of brilliance, but he mixes that with FAR too many displays of bonehead decision making and utter laziness.

Sully has to be the dumbest smart guy I've ever seen play in the NBA.  He has very obviously has high basketball IQ, and yet half the time he's on the floor you feel like you're watching Michael Beasley with some of the stupid things he does.

Just seems like a simple case of a guy who has the brains, but can't be bothered using them.
