rj has had most of season to hit gym and gain weight and strength, who is the better shot rj or young ,when they play 3 on3 or 5on 5 who is better, rozier came in with a defensive rep,was it deserved, are these guys getting better, stronger faster increased vertical or just sitting around-

These guys probably won't get any minutes unless there is an injury.

I wouldn't be surprised if agents tell the Celtics not to draft their guys in the next draft. There is just not enough room on this team for a middle to late first round draft pick to get minutes on this team.

agree with you
are they improving with the time they spend in practice with squad and remember the claims of coming back bigger for young and increasing vertical-the question is again aimed at practice and what they are showing

Seems like next year will be pretty important for Young. He's going to be forgotten soon.

No idea if these guys are improving in practice or not. If they are, obviously not enough.

If anything, Young has regressed by comparison to last year. His minutes, ppg and % are worse.
RJ's strong point (3pts) is not anywhere close to what would allow him to succeed in the NBA.
I'm hopeful about Rozier: problem is that with all these guards we have, it is nearly impossible to give him meaningful playing time.
Mickey is pretty good on the DLeague, but until he gets tested in the real thing we cannot say much.

As for what happens in practice, most teams are understandably secretive about the progress (or lack thereof) of their rookies.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Three firsts (only one low first) that should have been more appealing in a trade at the time they were drafted than they are now. I suppose all have the ability to improve, but there is no room for playing time and it will only get worse next year when we add even more picks. We really have to hope that Danny consolidates some of these players/picks or we are going to have wasted a lot of these 'assets' that we've talked about for years.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.

We love to talk about the Development of our players. This is the first year our rookies have not played much so we are down on the process. I think all three will do well in the future. E'Twaun Moore is now starting and he not close to these guys.

The only information about them we have is that the team isn't particularly concerned with giving them any real playing time for development.

I dunno about Hunter, but Rozier, Mickey, and Young, at least, have torn up the D-League enough to tell you they're too good to get much out of experience down there.

Draw what conclusions you will.

You're right, though -- this is the drawback to having all of these picks.  Nice in theory, and always useful as assets until you actually have to turn them into players.  But if you don't want to go about the dirty business of developing the guys you draft, it's kind of like planting your vegetables and then never picking them off the vine.  They'll end up as compost.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.
