speaking of 'talking about no deadline deals'.... I was listening to 98.5 this afternoon and just thought the Felger and Mazz crew was an absolute embarrassment.

They literally never talk Cs, and then becuase they have nothing else to talk about today, they dive in and display their total lack of Cs or even NBA knowledge in virtually any shape or form.

Bottom line: they didn't talk about the current team and it's players for a second -- they simply dismissed how quickly they've gone from rebuild initiation to E Conference relevance based on Ainge's handy work.

All they did was cry about Al Horford -- because they have nothing at stake if trading the BKN pick for him turns out to be an epicly dumb deal, considering they never talk Cs anyway... just don't care about 'em. I heard the phrase "badly missed opportunity" 4 times in 40 minutes.

I was dying for Ainge to call in and kick Felger's a$$.
I stopped listening to those guys as soon as I got satellite radio. Neither of them know squat about basketball and Felger downright hates his hometown Celtics.

It's just so painful. He did this bit about how useless Top 5 picks are where they named the last 80 of 'em (this century). Once they got into it, he starts back peddling because they're listing off superstars over and over again, not to mention excellent players who aren't busts. They find a few Evan Turners and Anthony Bennetts and harp away....

Meanwhile, the guys are trying to talk about players they know nothing about. They call Ty Evans an "impact player", but call Derrick Favors a "bust". I'm like turning red in the car.

I tried to call in to ask (but couldn't get through):

Question: How many teams with the 3rd worst record or worse at the February deadline have traded their pick at that time during those 16 years for an existing NBA player?

Answer: None (i think, but wasn't worried about their ability to prove me wrong).

And do you know why talk show team? Because no GM is stupid enough to risk losing a shot at a future superstar who is 20 years old -- the only thing that wins championships in the NBA -- to rent a non-superstar who's 30 and certainly won't bring them a championship!!!

Just because you're bored, impatient radio hosts doesn't make you smart.

Yeah, but, I mean you kept listening.  Listeners who love what they're saying and listeners who are enraged by the aggressive stupidity count the same in the ratings.  Radio hosts aren't paid to be knowledgeable, they're paid to get people to listen.

i could do his job the last year.  aka...nothing.

i like danny.   but he has zero pressure apparently.   nba's the worst/.

I like how IT is nothing. He has done nothing for us.

that was a year ago.   how much do you do in a year at work?    i imagine you guys don't pay for league pass or tickets?      i'm not blaming ainge.    the nba kind of sucks.  its a league that lets years go by and nothing happens unless you have one of the ten best players.

If this is the way you feel, basketball may not be the sport for you. By it's nature, it is an individually dominated sport as there are only five players on the floor for a team at a time. Baseball and football are very team-oriented sports, whereas basketball is an incredibly individualistic sport.

I think this is actually one of the more exciting times in the NBA, as 4 different teams have won the championship in the past 5 years (Mavericks, Heat, Spurs, Warriors). Imagine how teams felt in the 90's when Jordan was winning it all almost every year he played the whole season, or when the Celtics won every championship besides 1967 in the 60's

i'd be interested to know what deals we turned down. and hope we didn't pass on something with the thought that "we'll take our chance in free agency".

I personally do not even consider free agency an option, considering we couldn't get Monroe to even visit this offseason.... the guy that got relegated to the bench in Milwaukee wouldn't even come for a visit...

I'd rather have Amir Johnson over Monroe.

Just watched the trade deadline special.  Good job  by Danny I feel.  We are loaded going into this offseason and can draft a really good player and do other things as well.

sure man,  i'll stop watching basketball after 35 years.     how about danny actually stops throwing away seasons hoarding useless ****s like mickey, rozier and hunter?   markieff morris couldn't have helped improve the product this year?  this ****ing year....

My guess is that teams were trying to get Crowder and or the Brooklyn pick in a trade. Those are tough pieces to lose. I don't think anyone was salivating over Mickey, Rozier and Hunter. They haven't been able to beat out our top 9-10 rotation.

I am sure Ainge has been kicking tires looking for good deals - he made a bunch of them over the past few years. And he has his hands super full getting ready for this draft.

The NBA is a slow rebuild sport, unless you get lucky and draft one of those top 5-10 players. It is what it is. 1 player is just that influential in a game.

I get your frustration though. We all want to get to a championship as fast as possible.

What are you talking about? Are you trying to say that because Danny Ainge hasnt made a trade that he has not done any work? You think his only job is making trades and thats all there is to it? Uhhhh....OK. I dont even know where to start. Ill just say that if that is what you are saying then you are wrong.

This is one of those treads that just makes me hate sports fans.
2019 Historical Draft - Golden State

C - Bill Russell/Joel Embiid
PF - Giannis Antetokounmpo/Tommy Heinsohn
SF - Kevin Durant/Billy Cunningham
SG - Bruce Bowen/David Thompson
PG - Isiah Thomas/James Harden

We have great competitors, great teammates. Winning organization. We are in a great position going forward. Financial flexibility, great looking draft picks, and young talent.

What's there to complain about ?

yeah, considering how much Felger/mazz harp on "ponies vs. Horses" all the time when talking about other teams, it was kind of funny hearing them go on and on about how much of a mistake the C's made by not dealing the brooklyn pick for Horford.

wouldnt horford certainly fit in the "pony" category? he makes them better, yes...but he isnt exactly a player that puts them over Cleveland in a 7 game series let alone spurs/golden state.

you have a chance at getting a "horse" with that pick

TP.  I tuned in, but just missed Danny.  I did get to hear Chris Mannix refer to "Jae Crawford" as a good piece for this team, though.

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Felger and Mazz show lost all credibility when they addressed Thaddeus Young & that rumor. One of their crew when asked about him says: " I'm going to pass, never seen him play. Don't know much about him "

Deadline special on CSN right now.  Danny talking.

TP for the heads up.

Not listening though. Looking forward to tomorrow's game vs Jazz.

Had enough trade talk to last me till June.

Disappointed and don't want to hear GM's speak-right now.
