I thought about this during the All-Star Game : what if the All-Star who mentioned his interest for the Celtics to IT during the week-end wasn't Horford but Paul George?
I think he also fits Danny's criterias :
- a proven star (who has shown its level during the playoffs against the Heat, most notably)
- under 30 (will turn 26 in May)
- a go-to scorer who can close games and provide consistent scoring in multiple ways (from three, midrange and at the FT line)
- under contract for around 18 millions a year until 2017-2018 (and 18-19 if he picks up his option)
He wouldn't fix our lack of size in the middle though but still, I think he fits all the criterias.
Now it doesn't mean that we can get him. Indiana is currently 6th in the East but I'm not sure Paul George sees his future then since they don't have a really young core except for Turner. He could be interested in the Celtics' chemistry, results and defensive mentality. And also like the idea of becoming the "next" Paul Pierce.
Thoughts?
