No way this is happening .

Jordon only stayed , came back , cause he thought the core would be there.

If Griffin leaves ,  CP3 and Jordon are gonna want out after this year .   No way do,they think Gallo and Faried can replace a healthy a Blake Griffin.

If Doc does this .....he sinks the Clippers for the next 25 years .

Unless Blake is mad at the organization and wants out , but heck...he has all those Hollywood gigs making money as celebrity ,  man I'm not seeing Nuggets having enough assets to do this . Hard to see why Griffin would pick Nuggets over the Lakers IF he is the one wanting to,be traded.  Look at the pick Clips could get.

No way CP3 lets this happen ....the team will,be crushed.
When they don't win a title this year, do you think Blake, DJ and CP3 will want to run it back with the same cast?

I think a move will happen in the offseason.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

If Doc doesn't trade Blake, he's looking at two more shallow playoff runs then a decade long rebuild.

Celtics Receive: Griffin
Nuggets Receive: 18 Brooklyn pick, 16 Celtic pick, Lee, Crawford
Clippers Receive: Gallo, Bradley, Sully, Jerebko, 16 Dallas pick, 17 right to swap with Brooklyn

So, almost every single tradeable pick the next three years, combined...and Bradley...for Griffin. And you think Gallinari alone is worth a Brooklyn 1st plus another 1st. Thankfully you are not a GM, and thankfully your idea is impossible because it'd leave the C's without a 1st in consecutive years.

No, it really doesn't. The Celtics still have their first round picks in the coming years. We also keep our Brooklyn pick this year.

No, I don't think Gallo is worth a Brooklyn pick plus another pick. Neither does Ainge. But I do think Griffin is. And that is the point. We don't get back Gallo. We get back Griffin.

Yeah, my bad, I could've sworn you also included the Nets pick this year. If not, then not having a 2017 1st is kosher. Sorry. Anyway, it's still too much, two Nets picks and two more 1sts and Bradley. Just for Griffin. Way too much. And while that would be the equation for us, and whatever Denver sends and receives would be irrelevant for us, it's still grotesque that Denver is getting that for just Gallo.

I did at first, but I changed it right away because I had the same feeling. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Griffin was arguably the 3rd best player in the NBA last year. He has at least 4-5 years of elite playing left. He has extended his shooting out to three point range. He can play small ball center.

I would be willing to give up every pick we had for Griffin. What I wouldn't be willing to give up is Crowder-Smart-Thomas-Olynyk. With Griffin and those guys, I think we we are Eastern Conference contenders. That's worth all those picks. In fact, that's why we got those picks. For end of career Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, we get in-prime Blake Griffin. That's a deal.

I don't know about off season.....I'm talking about the topic .....there an't squat being traded for Griffin unless it comes from a BIg market team .

Gallo and Faried are average players at best no reason to trade a top five player for.two top 50 players .
Wow ......Doc is not that dumb.

Wow ......Doc is not that dumb.

Doc thought that Griffin-Jordan front-court could win a championship
Doc signed Josh Smith
Doc traded for Lance Stephenson
Doc signed and was playing Hedo Turkoglu as recently as last year
Doc traded for, signed, and is playing Austin Rivers as a backup point guard
Doc traded Eric Bledsoe and Jared Dudley for JJ Reddick
Doc has not traded for or tried a lineup including a true stretch 4

Doc is great with managing personalities, but he has not made good deals as head of basketball operations. He has a love for his guys. That's the one thing that makes me think he won't trade Griffin.

Gallinari and Faried for Griffin is a joke of a trade for the Clippers.  Griffin is an all NBA player.  The other two are average players.  Gallinari is ok, Farried is a very athletic garbage man.

They're both above-average (Gallo more than Faried), but definitely not in Griffin's league.  That's why I said as a starting point, plus Denver taking on Stephenson's bad contract.  There'd probably have to be more in it for the Clips than that, though.
Interesting. Does Denver have enough for the Clips to unload Griffin and Stephenson? Any expiring contracts? Maybe they are trying to clear up cap to make a play for Durant.

I don't know about options and the like, but I believe Hickson, Foye, and Miller are all expiring for Denver.  That's about $9.5 million, which isn't a ton in the new cap enviroment, but it could help.  Don't know who the Clips would want to salary dump outside of Stephenson, though.  Maybe Pierce so he can be bought out and come back home  ;D
TP for researching that. I think this is probably the best angle I heard on this. Get a decent piece like Faried but the real move is to clear space for Durant.

That's interesting too.  76ers could definitely outbid us.

With what?? More one-sided center prospects that can't play power forward next to Jordan? In what world would they outbid us when they have absolutely no players of interest that would fit with their team?? Unless you're going to sit there and value players like Ish Smith, Covington, and Stauskas over our guys, which isn't out of the question given what you've said in the past, this post makes absolutely no sense.

I don't think so. The Clippers will want proven players, not prospects. They have a 2 year window with Paul. The Sixers could get into a three team trade with Denver to send Gallo to the Clippers too, but I think we could outbid the Sixers by sending the Clippers another solid player (Bradley or Crowder).

Picks and prospects are great to have, but once a team is in win-now mode, normally they are a luxury, not a sought after piece.

And this is kind of why it's hard to get overly excited about Boston's assets.  Yeah, we have a lot of picks and some decent role players, but if a team prefers established talent, there's a lot of ways to outbid our best offer.

Again, this is why people don't take you seriously around here. Noel and Okafor are of no interest to LAC, because it's been shown this year that neither would be able to play with DJ at the four spot. So now the Sixers could definitely outbid us with their picks and lesser role players purely because they're not the Celtics. It's just asinine how inconsistent you are and how big of a double standard you have. But, of course, you'll deny it and try to redirect the argument elsewhere...

Gallo+Nurkic+Barton

Too much, not enough?

Cuz I think that's a great trade for the Clips. It needs Chris Paul to be a superstar to succeed. But its a great trade.

Paul
Redick/Barton
Gallo/Barton
Pierce
Jordan/Nurkic

Very interesting team. I'd watch, big fans of a few of those guys. Makes the team instantly more likable.

I'd demand Gallo, Faried, and Barton if I were the Clips.

Go for broke.  Give us your three best established players and we'll trade you the future of your franchise.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

The Celtics have winning players and pretty good team.  Yes, a D league team like the Sixers has better assets.  Every playoff team wants a big 'ol piece of that Sixer magic!
