Start KO with Sullinger, who have been very good together, and bring Amir off the bench who is pretty much our best big for small ball.
I was on-board earlier when KO got into the starting unit, but the balance with our bench was highly affected, so I'm not so sure I want KO in the starting unit simply because he has a good role off the bench.
But I'm willing to try it again, if it means that he goes in for Amir instead of Sully because it preserves the balance of what we're trying to do, while also putting our players in their best roles to succeed in my opinion. Plus again, Olynyk-Sullinger has worked very well, probably our best big combo this year easily (last I checked).
If we bring Sullinger off the bench instead, then I think we'll see much of the same problems we saw in early in January... trying to solve something that isn't broken, while at the same time causing costly problems. Part of it was that Sullinger is simply not a good option for small ball, yet brad insisted on it. When he got paired with Zeller, at least they functioned (except when a instance or two in which Zeller was brutally bad, but he seems to be playing quite better now).
So I'm not really worried with who starts and who doesn't, but more worried with the strategy Stevens employs with his rotations.
It serves no purpose starting Kelly if it means that Stevens will begin using Sullinger more in small ball units. But if he goes big off the bench, then we can probably work it out, though I prefer Olynyk's role off the bench in this particular case. Outside of that, I lean to my preferred pair to start with Olynyk-Sullinger, and have Amir off the bench and balance our small ball units.
