Hypothetically we win the lottery. You can choose whoever you like first overall.
For this example I'll take Simmons haha. Imagine Starting Simmons over Sullinger. A man can dream.

I'm keeping it simple Simmons as are point Power Forward. What a dream fit he would be here with Stevens and his ability to handle it and pass it, and he'll get you 20 pts and 13 boards a night.

 Kelly
 Ben Simmons
 Crowder
 Smart
 Thomas

I am in the Brandon Ingram camp.  I think he is a better prospect than Simmons.  So here is mine.

Smart
Thomas
Ingram
Crowder
Sully

I don't think a top lottery pick should be guaranteed a starting spot.

I'm not sure Ingram starts from Day 1. Jae would stay at the 3 and Amir come in at the 4. Starting line up only changes if Simmons is coming

Wow how sweet would it be to have Simmons and Smart. The Cs would be set for the next 10 years.

It wouldn't be a starting five, but Simmons at the point with Smart, Bradley, Crowder, and Olynyk would be a really neat and versatile small ball unit.

Thomas (LOVE his offense but I think he shouldn't guard starting pg's)

Would be so glad to see Simmons flourish into a superstar under CBS  ::)

This is what I was going to post. My only concern is that moving Thomas to the bench would make him want to leave.

I really think Simmons would fit in well defensively with us once he started to develop. He has the size and quickness to switch 2-4, and since Stevens prefers a switching defense this could be put to use.

If Smart can continue to improve his shooting then the lineup would provide enough shooting to surround Simmons since he is a non shooter so far.

It wouldn't even be that small. Olynyk is almost 7 feet and it looks like Simmons is going to be a terrific rebounder, so he can help Olynyk in that area. And he's got legit PF size at 6'10".

Watching the LSU vs Oklahoma game, the announcers were saying it's surprising just how big Simmons really is.

This is the unit I'd want to roll with, whether it's the starting unit or not.  See what they can do.

Maybe put RJ or Rozier in there at Bradley's spot and see if they can do anything.

Whatever team gets Simmons should look to install him at the 4 from day 1, alongside a SF who can shoot a bit and also switch onto bigger forwards, and otherwise surround him with quick, skilled guys who can run and space the floor.

I think the focus of the team if they get Simmons should be to identify the players on the team who are on a similar timeline as Simmons (i.e. they'll be in their prime around the same time), with a skillset that compliments his skillset, and move on from the rest.  Try to have the best team you can possibly have right around the time Simmons is really coming into his own.

My worry would be that the team would try to bring Simmons along slowly and stick with mostly the same formula that has had them in the playoff mix this season and last, instead of focusing from day one on building the best team possible around Simmons's unique talents.

Ingram vs Simmons will be a great forward rivalry if they both pan out, much like Okafor vs Towns...

I personally want Simmons on this team

Ive religated my optamism to the Cs landing a pick 3-5.

But if Simmons was on the Cs next season I would expect.

PG Thomas
SG AB
SF Crowder
PF Simmons
C Johnson

This lineup would leave KO and Smart playing heavy minutes off the bench.
Mavs
Wiz
