I love this kid. I'm looking to get a more accurate picture where this kid is going In the draft. Two mocks have him in the ten to eleven range which is probably too high, and Draftexpress has him at #48 which is way to low.

Negatives are he's skinny still, even though he's gained 30 pounds in college, He's a senior, has a rough time guarding strong guys in the post. Does not shoot ANY three pointers, like at all. Doesn't really pass it either.

Positives, tremendous athlete, great scoring instincts inside, really good at making himself available at drop off passes inside. Runs like a deer. Awesome rebounder, grabs a rebound, gives it to a guard, rim runs, and gets an alley oop back for a thunderous dunk.

Not many people in the world can second jump like Brice, reminds me of Shawn Marion. And he's big 6'9" 6'11" wingspan.

Tp's to anyone with anything positive or negative to add about this intriguing prospect. He should have tremendous Defensive potential with his size, quickness and athleticism.

He had a 39 point 23 rebound game earlier this year, I believe he was the first player in the history of UNC to put up those numbers in one game. That's impressive considering its UNC.

Yeah you're right...TP to you!

I think he has good potential. I kind of see a Larry Nance Jr style. Very jumpy...good rotation player...but I think Jordan Mickey is a bit better.

I do like Mickey's all around package more. Mickey has a jumpshot and his shot blocking is awesome.

Brice is a faster, quicker athlete with springs for days though.

TP the OP!

I like Brice Johnson a lot.

I think that many upperclassmen like Johnson, especially players like Wayne Selden, Melo Trimble, Darnell Valentine and Buddy Hield are devalued especially because they are not freshmen and therefore have less potential. I think that this line of thinking is pretty shortsighted.

I think that all those players, especially Johnson and Selden could be big value.

I've watched a couple of UNC games, and I have been impressed with him relative to his lowly Draftexpress status.

He seems to have excellent instincts, knows where to be and makes big plays. His mechanics don't look that bad, so I think he can extend his range. He is excellent in transition and very slippery inside the paint. Value player.

Joking about what Triboy. Mickey may have a higher Max Verical, but Mickey is stronger and heavier, he's in great shape no doubt. Brice is the lighter type he can get off the ground faster than Mickey. I guarantee it.

Not a knock on Mickey at all, he's still the man. Mickey blows the doors off of Brice with his shot blocking and his super giant wingspan.

And for the efficiency guys out there hes averaging 17 points per game on 10.6 attemts per game .623% from the field.

An average free throw shooter his first three years, he's improved to a very good .789% at 4.5 attempts per game.

I know Brice stayed 2 more years than Mickey.

I found this interesting though Mickey played more minutes than Brice check out the per 40 stats.

 Mickey Sophmore year per 40

17.7 Ppg 11.7 RPG 4.1 bpg 1.1spg

 Brice Senior year

 25.4 Ppg 15.4 RPG  1.9bpg  2.0 spg

Again Brice had more time to develop but he's very productive, and shoots at a high percentage. He will be able to finish against NBA size and length because of his own size and his elite quickness, instincts around the basket, and world-class second hops.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
It's hard to say because of his size. He doesn't  have the 12-15 foot jumpshot ga e of a modern nba power forward, but he's an incredible athlete and that makes up for his lack of height.

But yeah, needs to add some serious muscle and the main question will be how he can adjust to playing PF or C in the NBA  with his lack of size.

He is like the Montrezl Harrell of this draft. I'd say he goes somewhere late in the first round or early second round. I agree that #48 is too far back,  but i doubt he's top 25.

And yes, he's a better athlete than mickey lol.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
