Besides watching every Celtics game, I also catch every Tar Heels game and I actually attended one in person this past Saturday. Brice Johnson is a 6'9" pogo stick who has improved his game drastically during his 4 years at Carolina. Coach Roy Williams has been in his face all along, trying to get him to realize his potential. Johnson has been the most consistent and the best overall player on a very deep team this year. His limitations in the NBA will stem from his slight frame, he will get pushed around at the next level. Unfortunately, I don't see him getting many minutes with the Celtics due to the likes of Mickey, Sullinger, and Olynyk. Having said that, he has developed a decent jumper from around the free throw line and he can rebound and block shots with the best of them. He also has a formidable arsenal of post moves and can run the floor like Zeller.

In the event that we don't get a top 3 pick, I don't think it's an unrealistic scenario that we would trade several of our picks to move up into the Sixers spot. We have more picks than we can handle in this upcoming draft, and they may be worth more as trading chips at this point.

Sounds similar to Mickey, how do you think they compare?

I think that's an accurate statement. Mickey is a little shorter but has great defensive instincts, and I think Johnson is the better athlete. Having both of them would likely be redundant.

Mickey is the more complete player, But Brice has more potential on offense. I'm not sold on Brice's winning attitude though and think that may be his downfall.

I like Johnson but I worry that I like him for alot of the same reason I was high on the Cs drafting Jajuan Johnson. Like JJJ Brice is very athletic and a very successful college player but lacks the bulk to really bang inside with NBA center. He also  doesn't seem to have much of an face up offensive game. This lack of strength relegates him to playing the PF position but his offensive skill set relegates him to playing the pick and dive role normally played by taller longer centers. What he does have going for him is his knack for rebounding and his ability to elevate quickly to finish at the rim.

I ultimately think he will be worth  but will have to land on the right team to ever really make it in the league. I would say his ceiling is on pare with Brandon Wright and his role could end up with him playing backup undersized center for a good team that likes to push the pace to let him out run big centers and use him in the pick and role as a dive man.

As fare as the Cs go I think Mickey poseses all of Johnson's positives and less of his negatives. Ultimetly they are some what redundant and unless he is available as the BPA in the second round I would prefer DA to avoid him.
