The next 8 games are absolutely crucial for the Cs to get a good run and build some momentum before the AllStar break. This might be the best opportunity to push a 10+ game win streak during the season.  The schedule breaks down as follow:
Magic x2
Knicks
Pistons
Cavs
Kings
Bucks
Clippers

Only 3 of those teams have a winning record, and two of those teams are definitely dealing with some organizational turmoil (Cavs and Clipp). Logistically, two of these games are off of a back2back (Detroit and LAC).

I think the Cs have to finish this stretch at LEAST 7-3; going 11-3 into the break if you count the current 4-win streak. This would mean that Boston would be 33-24 with 25 games to go. Makes getting to 50 wins a heck of a lot easier.

I'm not willing to get my hopes up. The last time a thread similar to this was posted the C's lost to Brooklyn and the Lakers during their worst stretch of the season.

I'm hoping for 7-3 but I'll be fine with 5-5.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon

Hopefully the Celtics dont look at it this way.  I feel like they did last time we went 1-7 becasue we had a similar easy stretch and we weren't taking the games one at a time.

not sure if I'd call this stretch any more 'key' than any other stretch or that will tell us more about how good the team actually is regardless of their record when it's over BUT, this stretch of games will give the C's a chance to put some real space between them and several teams chasing them in the standings.

Yeah that was pathetic and frustrating.

The fact we are 2-4 against Dallas and Brooklyn just blows my mind. I would have thought management would have made sure those games were games we needed to be up for.

Clippers and Cavs are only teams there clearly better than the Celtics.

The other 5 teams are pretty solid teams though. All around .500. Milwaukee a little further back but they are clearly under-performing relative to their talent. Those games could be closer to 50-50s than expected wins.

I don't know the home and away stuff. I think I'll go with expected wins for home games and 50-50 for road games. Whatever record that ends up being.

Update: So that is 5-3 or 4-4.

I think Dallas is pretty good and we were a few blown calls away from beating them the last time.

As far as playing harder because we have their picks, I'm not sure the players want to play harder so that the Celtics can draft someone better to take their jobs.

The rumors start flying at all stars so yes the team needs a good run to show DA to be a buyer.
