i'm not a fan of them but can't keep myself from my daily checks
brad tries to build a culture of team and players and family
while rumors swirl eroding confidence and stability
looking for a star makes nobody safe ,matter of fact if you improve or play better you become more of a target and more valuable chip-
ainge has his job -win a championship
i enjoy celtics as an over achieving bunch that finds a way to win and doesn't quit
i quess i would vote for incremental growth through a combination of draft selective trades and free agency
that do not effect our defence of crowder, smart ,bradley and then kelly and isaiah

you can bet your lucky stars that Brad Stevens has given Ainge a list of guys or wants.

If guys are this fragile, do we really want them?

We can still do that with a star if they buy in.

Relax, the odds are good, Rollie, nothing will happen.

I love trade rumors. Since the trade deadline is 3 weeks from today I expect a whole lot more.

Even if nothing happens they are still fun to discuss.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

What rumors? I expected a ton of Celtics rumors this season (given all the picks that we have), and I'm terribly disappointed in the amount of Celtics rumors that I've seen so far.

On the other hand, I'd rather not hear any rumors all year long and see the team make a big move with its picks or players at the deadline than hearing all year about rumors that never come true (i.e the Kevin Love trade).

this is the first time in a while where trade deadline is approaching and it's kinda quiet in Celtics land. There are "trade ideas" for the Cs but I haven't seen much "RUMOR - CELTICS TARGETING PLAYER X" threads...besides Kevin Love, and some weak Cousins rumors

Why come to Celtics Blog? Love trade talk/rumors. Probably my favorite posts to read.
I can't imagine they really bother players much.

True that could be argued for. The rumors, however, keep things interesting in my opinion, which is why I'm kind of disappointed in the low amount this season ;D

But isn't that a good thing. Last year DA made a couple trades out of left field no one saw coming till last minute.

DA might want Love, but could also be a diversion for some one else he's looking at. If he calls on some one and there's a bit, he doesn't want an other team to jump in and F things up by raising the price. Getting teams to look at Love and they swooping in on some one else that helps the team would be a great move....

Happens all the time here...and make for some great conversation/perspective for those of us who aren't as up to speed on today's talent as we would like.  Personally, I enjoy reading the different viewpoints because I know they ALL are looking at it with one thing in mind...what they think will improve the Celtics.

Speculation does seem pointless. I watch the games then read some threads and Celtics bloggers that I find personally interesting.

Brad's college player died and he took off a game or two. The Celtics are all about atmosphere. Tommy is still announcing games. Havlicek still pops in unexpected to kick ass and remind the players what the team name on the jerseys mean.

Danny has a reputation as trader Danny after all his shuffling the deck, etc. over the last two and a half years.

It would not be a bad idea to switch strategy back to the classic Celtic idea of stability, the old once a Celtic, always a Celtic, a part of a family.

In Ainge's defense, he has treated all these various rent-a-players well. Prince did seem upset, but on paper, he got a chance to go back to the former team which he loved.

I am not sure this plays into it. But there must be something to Isaiah and Avery being long-term friends. If one of them is moved, it could upset established chemistry.

Thankfully a lot of contracts are running out. It might be in Danny's interest to stop trying to squeeze something, anything out of expiring assets. Making too many trades will not help this year.

If Danny can move Sully and Turner, that could help with chemistry. It would be a leap of faith if we don't get back a pg for Evan. It would be a leap of faith to rebound well without Sullinger. But those types of little moves could have the same effect as moving Rondo and Jeff Green. It would make the players remaining have clearer roles and there could be a lot more camaraderie and structure. Guys like Zeller, Jerebko, and the rookie Mickey could duke it out for Sully minutes not added to Olynyk and Amir, my two choices for who should represent the front court. I noticed Amir played extra minutes in the last game. I liked that. Maybe his feet are not as bad as it seemed when it came out he has plantar fasciitis.

This team has formed a core identity. Hopefully Danny has evolved and will not make any knee-jerk moves.

Perhaps keep Sully and Turner and keep going with what Brad has settled on for his ten player rotation.

Evaluate them from now to the end of the season? Give Sully and Turner more chances to state their case for new contracts within Celtics Pride? I don't think they fit in. They do for this year in a Cinderella way. That might be it. I am starting to give Marcus Smart a higher ceiling than most to handle point guard. If he can, why is there any need for Evan Turner? If we can handle rebounding without Sully, why would we want him on the team?

I am always pulling for making it through a trade deadline with no major moves for the Celtics.  As a fan, I prefer it when the big changes happen in the off-season.

Over the years, though, I've learned to steel myself to be prepared for anything
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I like the action of the rumors, It's fun,

At the same time, as one of the other threads discussed this morning stated "these guys are fun to watch".

I don't think that we have to worry about Danny being impatient, but rather Wyc.

Wyc's impatience last year cost us Winslow/Turner at the least or whatever we could've peddaled that pick for. We would've been farther along  (maybe not that much farther, but farther nonetheless) in the rebuild than we are now.
