If Dunn is BPA with our Nets pick, should we take him

 And now its the Celtics pick and Kris's Dunn is sitting there as the best player available. Do you take Dunn who's basically Rajon Rondo on steroids.
 Which means he can't really shoot, but Dunn does seem to hit them when he needs to, and his game is clutch, even if its making passes or steals or key three's, but overall he's not really the agrresive scorer I thought he'd be.

 Still tons of Big names on the board.

No I  think once you get past the first few picks the talent level is too close.  Poeltl, Ellenson and Skal would interest me the most.  Murray and Stone not so much that high.  I think the celtics would also look at trading the pick.  Skal might be the pick there though.

At that point I would draft Skal if I can't package that pick.  I don't want to draft over Smart and then not be able to develop both him and Dunn.

Nobody is drafting Hield ahead of Dunn, unless somehow the Hornets lose every game from here on out.

So if you were the Celtics and ended up getting stuck having to use 4 picks in the top 40, and every time you are on the clock, the best player available is a point guard, you would leave that draft with 4 more point guards?  No exceptions?

Rest assured, it won't come to Dunn. Simmons and I share the same birthday. Surely this means we will be in a position to draft him. And I say this with confidence: Ray Allen and I also share the same birthday, and indeed, he was a Celtic. Book it now: Simmons will be a Celtic.

Ha well I guess my rule breaks when you have an absurd, "Danny level" amount of picks, but it's definitely more true the higher the pick.  I wouldn't have a problem drafting Dunn and Murray for instance

No! Trade the pick in that case. PG's aren't as valuable in today's NBA, and unless he's Magic Johnson 2.0 (he's not) then trade the pick for a star or trade down a few spots to pick up another asset and then take Poeltl.

I get BPA, but by drafting Dunn we devalue our other PGs as trade assets too. People don't think about that when they draft BPA. It's not always that simple

I don't get the reference to Rondo. Dunn's TS% is 54% the last two years, which is better than the NBA average, and he shot 35% and 37% from beyond the arc. He's been pretty clutch from what I've seen too.

Rondo's  career TS% is 50% and his career 3FG% is 27%.

Yes, I would pick Dunn at 6 if he was available. I'd probably pick him at 5 and maybe even pick him at four.

He already plays great defense so he could probably give us immediate rotation minutes. If we decide to move on from Turner, Dunn would be the perfect type of player to fill his shoes.
