50:55 mark Woj and Mannix talk about the Celtics.

Mannix: I think it's too early, but Crowder is someone Griffin would salivate over. I'm not saying I wouldn't trade Crowder for Love, but I wouldn't give much more.

Are you sure Woj isn't simply reporting on Ainge's feelings of loneliness and separation because of how much time he spends scouting and making trade calls?
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

That whole segment with Mannix is a good listen. I don't know about everyone else on here, but I cannot wait for The Vertical to get up and running. It's going to be great.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
I hate to give up Crowder for Love, and if that comes down to it, I would pass.

We would always be thin at SF.

Bringing back Pierce for Zeller could work, but why couldn't we do a 3 way team trade with Morris/Bradley/picks/filler?

I think  I'm going to pen a one-act play titled "Ainge finds Love at Chipotle."

I don't think Jae Crowder is a deal-breaker, but I'd try to offer them a package like Avery Bradley, Amir Johnson, our 1st, the Dallas 1st and a future Brooklyn 1st for Love.   Bradley would be a great fit for them.  They need a solid defensive guard who can play off ball and hit shots.  Amir can play quality minutes for the Cavs as well.

It would also shave 12 million off the books for the Cavs this summer if they get rid of Amir, but that's still going to leave them close to the salary cap.   I wonder if it lowers their asking price if you also take Varejao (9 mil) and Shumpert (9 mil) off the books for them.   Varejao has a non-guaranteed contract so it doesn't matter much, but if they also dump Shumpert's salary they could use some of that money this Summer to add someone.  How important is Shumpert to what they are doing if they pick up Bradley?  http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=zu6xbg4

I doubt CLE is any closer to moving Love, but I still think that pulling PHX into a deal makes the most sense.

Love to BOS
Lee and draft considerations (from BOS*) to PHX
PJ Tucker, Markieff Morris, and draft considerations (from BOS*) to CLE

* where BOS does not give up a Brooklyn pick.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
This has to be the league's worst kept secret.
Ainge has always coveted Love and nothing would have changed that.

Ainge would be salivating at the thought of getting K Love for a mere swap of Jae Crowder lol.
The best part is the Cavs are that desperate that they'd potentially pull the trigger if things get really bad.

It's a delicate balance though, because right now conditions are absolutely perfect for a Celtics Love trade.
Kevin Love's value is at an all time low. I don't know if there's been a 'cheaper' potential top 10 player available for such a low price.
Likewise,  Jae Crowder is on fire and his offensive game has never been better.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Crowder is a nice player but Love is an All Star in the right system.

Also, we have Smart who probably is more suited to play Small forward than PG.

Trading Crowder for Love gets us our second all star and gives Smart an opportunity to start again.

No Brooklyn picks for Love.  End of story. Also, no Smart or KO.

If we can turn Rondo into Crowder and a pick, then turn those into Love, then I'm pretty psyched, though.  If they get Crowder, they also have to take Turner with him.

I wouldn't trade Olynyk either.
