Recent mocks have us picking at 20 and 21 due to having a similar record to Dallas.

So, when was the last time the Celtics made back to back picks and who did they pick.  Then, I think it happened twice (at least) in the last 12 or so years if I'm not mistaken, but I can't remember.  So here
are my guesses based on sketchy memory.

--TA and Delonte West picked back to back?  What was the trade again that netted those two?

--Sully and Fab Melo picked back to back?

--Joe Forte and ? picked back to back?

--Jajuan Johnson and Sully?

I think I'm missing a very recent example and it's really bothering me that I can't remember!!

Sully and Fab Melo were back to back.

Ok thanks.  Most people probably remember that (except me).  Still wondering about other times.  I think TA and Delonte would have been back to back but one or the other of them was traded down for, so actually picked at different spots.  My long term brain is better than short term..

Off of memory I want to say Kedrick Brown and Joe Johnson went 9-10 in the 2001 draft.  Then, we traded away Joe Johnson (when the Sun wanted Kedrick Brown .. doh!) to the Suns for a 2 month rental of Rodney Rogers and a few years of Tony Delk.  What a horrible trade that was.

Now, I'm going to check if I was right.

Close.  It was Joe Johnson 10, Kedrick Brown 11.

Nevertheless, very well played!

Not back to back but we've recently drafted teammates too.

In 2011 we tookJujuan Johnson and E'Twaun Moore who we're running mates at Purdue and in 2012 Fab Melo and Kris Joseph were fresh off a few seasons together at Syracuse.

Hey, hey, go easy on JJ. He's been playing great for us this season!

New trivia question-- who is the best tandem to be picked back-to-back [by the same team] in NBA history?

I feel like Johnson and Brown set a pretty high bar, actually

They're nothing next to Rubio + Curry.  My memory's a bit fuzzy, but I'm positive there's no way the Wolves would've passed on Curry twice in a row when specifically looking for PGs.

Except that we didn't draft Dirk?

Best I've found so far is Shawn Kemp and our own Dana Barros. The Sonics drafted them 16th and 17th in 1989.
