I think at this point, the gap between Simmons and Ingram is almost closed. His physical talents as well as acquired skills, have the chance to be transcendent in the NBA. The most common comparison is KD, but I see him as a talent similar to Leonard. Give him a few years to grow on muscles, as he is just 18 years old, and he will become the most complete player in this draft class.

Good work!  Now, go find 3 other players who have closed the gap to almost nothing so I can stop stressing over Nets games.  ;)

Well considering the fact, I once questioned the possibility of Ingram being able to surpass or even be a KD type of player, I did it with 4 things in mind as my reasoning: (I was also flamed pretty badly for even having this thinking, during the same time Ingram was struggling and unable to put up gaudy numbers that he is; currently putting up now.)

1) His vertical is extremely high.

2) His wingspan is ginormous.

3) He has a great work ethic.

4) And hes a quiet, but confident player that isn't afraid to defend his teammates, and express his passion.

I would've taken Ingram over Simmons last year, and still would right now without any questions asked.

He literally has the potential to be one of the best players in the league in a few years. Give him 2-3 years to get his ball handling in tip top shape, and let him work on creating separation with his length, and his quick agility in the lane when driving right with his ridiculous vertical to blow by defenders. And you'll see.

It's based on your perspective, quite simply
We're the same and we're not; know what I'm saying? Listen
Son, I ain't better than you, I just think different

I wish he was not doing so well and hoped he wouldn't( I'm cursed)because of his age and playing for Duke, but when a returning player/starter was injured Ingram got those extra minutes.

We would be so happy with a player like him to watch for his entire career. He is a complete player and even being super young and skinny he gets a ton of and 1's, even while contorting his body.

Also IMO he will have no problem with the jump to the NBA 3 point range. He will naturally get stronger both talent wise and physically especially because he is legit a year behind and already showing improvements. IMO he would be getting more steals, assists, blocks, and rebounds if he was a year older. He has great handles and passing...please watch him playing pg in AAU this past summer.

I think he may be best suited at shooting guard right off the bat and maybe he could be dominant over other 2's right away. He's def a 3 but can play every position ( eventually with some more muscle) but because of his quickness, handle, motor, mid-range jumper, 3pt shot, and to put it blunt he is a true TRIPLE THREAT!

I'm more high on Ingram than on Simmons. I don't watch college ball, and don't know much about either, but I have a gut feeling with Ingram.

Honestly, if we get either him or Simmons, I'm pumped.  I don't remember ever having a prospect like either of these guys in my lifetime.

Ingram though looks like he was designed in a lab to play basketball.  Here is what he looked like 2 years ago:

Yeah no doubt he's the Man, he was my guy from the early scouting Process.

He struggled early but now the talent shows itself.

Simmons just bothers me with his Divaness already, so I would much rather see Ingram on the Celtics.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.

I Agree. Coach K said he does ALL the right things. I hope we do get him as well.
