I think the main issue is the fact that everyone had such a high volume of expectations from Blatt.
Its even surprising based on the video/evidence that Coach Nick has given us without professional bias, (although he does say Kawhi has surpassed LBJ as the best player, questionable no?) that clearly Blatt was never ever meant to succeed.
1) Mark Jackson was apparently the coach to be hired, but the GM of the Cavaliers and President didn't really like Jackson's comments, and egregious attitude to GSW after his dismissal, which was understandable. So its definitely auspicious as soon as Blatt gets fired, that Tyron Lue gets a 3 year, and one of the most lucrative head coaching contracts with absolutely no head coaching experience. I know we were all sad to see him go, but is he a head coach? I can name a few coaches that I would take over him.
2) Problem of having such high expectations for a coach who is well known to preach defense, ball movement, and ensuring chemistry within the team, is the respect given and earned. I think Blatt felt like he wasn't the coach with the NBA experience, or the gritty style that most NBA players respect. I don't think Blatt was ever respected by Lebron; ever. He took them to the Finals, and everyone says its so easy with that Big 3, but they did a pretty good job, and held out as much as they could.
3) I am very disappointed with Lebron, because it definitely seems like as Coach Nick says, that Blatt was never ever given a chance from the start. It seems like honestly Blatt got hired, and the Cavs never expected Lebron to come back, so there wasn't any pressure to win a title. With that being said, they should've just hired a new coach in the beginning of the season, or after the Finals. I didn't understand why they would do it now. They were looking for a scapegoat, and it was either Love or Blatt. Its only more surprising that players expected a Love trade than a David Blatt firing, so while chemistry in the locker room is always 3/4 on the coach, Lebron is also the leader and the best player, so why wasn't he acting professional, and trying to bring the team together, instead of vying against the coach's best interests?
4) My respect for Lebron has never been that high. I always disliked him. This only increases my hatred for him as a basketball player, and while he is a top 3 SF, I never liked how Lebron pushed Blatt out. And I won't be surprised when Blatt goes to the 76ers or the Nets, and actually makes the team look good, or promising. He was a well respected and driven coach in the Euro-league, and if there was any coach like him with the chance of succeeding in the NBA as a head coach, I would pick him as my top 3 candidate.
