They are statistically the Celtics most dominant pairing so far this year.  They are averaging a +/- per 48 minutes of +21.4 points.  They are the best offensive duo averaging 117.2 points per 48.  Offensive rating of 112.1 and defensive rating of 94.1 for a net rating of +18.0 on the year.

In their 1 and only previous start this year they killed Charlotte on the road in 22 minutes together.  They had an Off. rat. of 109.2 and a Def. rat. of 80.5 for a Net rat. of +28.7 in that game.

I'm skeptical, I would much rather have Amir Johnson starting.

This is our most talented lineup if Smart was out there too. Amir is quicker up and down the floor than Sully but Sully is more talented by a good margain.

Great 1st half!  They combined for 18 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.  I believe they were +13 together as well.

I have been calling for Olynyk and Sullinger to start for a long time.
Amir is 105 years old.

Was at the game. Not sure if watching on TV shows it as well as seeing the plays being run in person but the Bulls ran a series of high picks, forcing Sully to pick up the guard and he was terrible at cutting the angle off. Was late every time. It felt like the Bulls were running this like 5-6 times in a row. Brad had to finally take Sully out. Was in the third quarter.

Sad thing is we need his rebounding. Olynyk and Zeller are just too soft. Sully is going to be the guy who helps and hurts this team every game.

Sullinger was a plus 20 in this game.

More like 28, but sure.

And that's with Sully only passing to KO 25 times all year. Just imagine if Sully also maximized, rather than minimized, KO's offense when the two were out there together.

The only stat that counts.

So should we say McDermott had a great game? He played 23 minutes, scored 0 points, played horrible defense, had zero assists but was a plus 13 while his team lost by 8. This stat is useless.

Bobby Portis was a plus 13 and the dude made so many bad decisions out there. No way you can say he had a positive impact on that game either.

Agree. What's up with that?

It would be bad basketball if Brad set any kind of action plays with Sully and Olynyk. You just aren't going to see a pick and roll or wheel play, with these two guys being the primary ball handlers. It would be clumsy and slow. Thankfully we don't see too many plays involving these guys together.
