In today's league, you often can only get away with playing one pure big man at a time.

The Celts have 5 or 6 of them on the team at the moment.

I think he has legit size and strength something that can't be said for a lot of our bigs.  Sully can board, but dicey shooter, and lacks height, no way is he 6-9 in fact, I think he is more like 6-7.  But he can push people around and deny them the sweet spot with his bulk.  KO is a finesse player.  Ditto for Zeller.  Jonas is a swing.   Mickey is a buried rookie.

Depends on what they are asking for.    I would consider getting him if he is cheap.  I would not pay a lot for him.

it's hard to argue against bringing a guy like Mozgov in, the price is what matters to me.

Players like that LOOK better playing with three STAR s

I think he would be worse than Zeller on the Celtics .

Really? Because he looked just fine during the playoffs without Kyrie and Love.

He looked great against us, but so did Thompson.  I think Ainge saw this and got us, Amir.    But we are still lacking in terms of good bigs from time to time.   It is great when ours show up, but they rarely all do the same night.

Outside of Sully all our bigs our finesse bigs. He would be able to stand in there and grab boards and stand his ground against big strong teams like Cleveland, Chicago  etc

To quote Bill Simmons:

So to your suggestion I ask:

Why in the world should they trade for another, even if it's a 1 for 1 or 2 for 1 swap?

That is true but it's also true if we have to depend on Zeller or Lee we are in trouble. Amir and Sully give us some rim protection but it's not enough. I don't know if Mozgof is the answer but the guys we have now that can play the 5 are not the answer.

He'd be the only true Center on the team (in years). Say yes to 'gov.   :D
Why isn't Tyler Zeller a "true center"?

He plays small? He's a finesse big. Mosgov is the opposite, as Eddie just described above.

So "true centers" don't play with finesse?  Did you ever watch Hakeem Olajuwon?
