So obviously the big news of the day was David Blatt being fired.  Even at 30-11, something was wrong with that team, so naturally the coach got whacked.  However, as we saw with the Mosgov rumor from the beginning of the week, I don't think the Cavs are done with moves.

Now that Anderson Varejao is back, plus Tristan Thompson on a new deal, and then of course Kevin Love, it feels like Mosgov is the odd man out there now.  Am I crazy to think that Mosgov could actually work out pretty well here?

Now granted, the Celtics already have an overflow of big guys, so certain players would need to be shipped out first.  But personally, I'd actually really like to see how it would work with him on this team.  Despite the Amir Johnson signing, this team still lacks rim protection.  And he hasn't been quite as consistent I think we were all hoping he'd be.  So whether it's a combo of David Lee and Amir, or David Lee and Jerebko, I think it could be worth it to see how it goes.  He's in the final of year of his deal and is basically making the same money as Jerebko.  He played real well for the Cavs last year and played a surprisingly big part I thought in the sweep of the Celtics.

Should Ainge make a call?  Personally, I'd like to see it.  A little jumble of the roster I think could do this team good.

To quote Bill Simmons:

In today's league, you often can only get away with playing one pure big man at a time.

The Celts have 5 or 6 of them on the team at the moment.

So to your suggestion I ask:

Why in the world should they trade for another, even if it's a 1 for 1 or 2 for 1 swap?
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

He'd be the only true Center on the team (in years). Say yes to 'gov.   :D

I don't see why we would need Mosgov. We need a dynamic scoring wing, not yet another average big.

Why isn't Tyler Zeller a "true center"?

Not all positional players are created equal. So in Mozgov's case he would provide an interior defender/rebounder (not to mention he sets crushing screens), which would help our team.

He plays small? He's a finesse big. Mosgov is the opposite, as Eddie just described above.

Ainge should for sure inquire about the Mozgov rumor.

With the Kings though, to outbid the Cavs crappy offer for Boogie.

I suppose even GS has Bogut. He may not get starter minutes, but he starts and provides that option.

We can't offer more than Love apart from giving them all our Nets assets. Love will return to all star from in Sacto. Hard to outbid that.

Boogie isn't going anywhere this year.

Not sure if Mosgov would move the needle but he would probably start immediately. KO would complement him quite nicely at the 4 too.

Man, I don't know. Look what it did for Cleveland last year. He's just a massive big down low. I wonder how much better our defense would be with a legitimate defensive anchor down low.

Ainge should inquire, even if it's only for a three-way or otherwise as a facilitator, on every rumor.

And every team needs a player of Mozgov size and strength in its quiver.

But that doesn't mean the price is right for his value to the C's.
