I been a Celtics fan for over 30 years and only 2 titles to enjoy over that time. When will Danny make a move? When will our luck cash in for the draft? Are we in a better situation now then we were in 2007? As you can tell I am getting impatient maybe like most of us.

So as I look at our team going forward, I ask myself, if I was Danny, who would I keep? I guess I am on my own on this but I really only like Crowder and IT. I think both players would be great energy guys off the bench. As for the rest of the team, I am not sure what everyone is excited about. I see a bunch of average to below average players making the most of extra playing time on a crappy team.

So I would try and come up with some packages to bring in bigger assets or superstars if possible. I think Smart is a bust. I think AB is garbage, sorry but anyone can play defense if they put the effort into it. Only reason his ppg have increased because he shoots more. Lee needs to go, don't care how. Evans is decent but he deserves a shot on a contender. Zeller gave us all he had last year, hasn't done much this year. KO needs a haircut and needs to go. Johnson would be good for a package trade. Sully hasn't really made improvements, not sure who's left but who ever is can go too.

I read an article on cbssports saying we are in a better position now then we were in 2007. I don't agree on the plain fact we had Paul Pierce entering his prime and was an all-star and someone you can build a championship around. We don't have that player now, and please don't say IT is that guy.

So again I ask the question when? Any rumors or news coming out of Boston?

The answer to this question is easy, when the rest of the teams decide they want to buy what Ainge is selling.

It's not about waiting for someone to want our assets, it's about waiting for a team with a star to realize they need to rebuild. Then we have the best offer short of a team with a top  pick being willing to trade it. There are a whole bunch of stars that could get traded in the next year, hopefully someone will and hopefully it will be someone Ainge wants. As soon as there is a legit rumor about a star being on the block I expect a legit rumor about the Cs being interested. I hope it is soon too.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
We have to wait until the right opportunity arises. We saw with the Brooklyn trade what forcing a win now deal can do to a team long term.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I don't buy this mindset that we have no talent or good players and Turner is the only good player we have.  Turner would serve a contender well, but I think it's the other way around. I agree we could use a star player though but keeping the core we have in tact.

If any player can play defense then why do so few players do it? I disagree there. Defense is a mindset and about intelligence which very few people have.  It's also a instinctual and a gift.  I'd say its the opposite and any player can score.  Great defenders are just as gifted as great offensive players.

Just look at Bill Russell. Very few players had his mindset and physical tools to do what he did on the defensive end.   No one did.

Kelly Olynyk is also going to be a star.  Thomas already is and he is 5'9". Smart will be a star too.  Sully has that kind of potential as well but injuries may hinder him.  Bradley and Crowder fit less in that mix along with Sully but are players who work hard and are maximizing their potential.

Turner is the guy who is truly limited for what he is because he doesn't have the ability or intelligence to shoot the 3 or play defense or under control.  He can score though and dribble and pass the ball and has physical tools. He is a roleplayer on a contending team which we aren't right now.  We need another star player to go with our developing ones.

We have an established star in IT.   We have developing talent in KO, Sully and Smart.  We have established roleplayers in Crowder and Bradley and Turner.  We have young talent and developing roleplayers in Rozier, Mickey, Young and Rj.  We have a low to midlevel veteran in Amir.  I personally think he is overpaid and was paid what he was because we needed a center, which was his going rate, because he is a low level veteran and plays a position of value which makes him midlevel.  We have crap in David Lee.

Defense. Very underrated.

I get it, your not happy, you think most of the players on the team are "garbage,"and you want a championship...and you want it now.

Your analogy on the subject of defense is laughable, and I'm guessing you feel playing defense is an overrated attribute too. The ability to defend is much more than simply "trying"... you need certain attributes, physical and mental. Not everyone does it like Bradley, and Smart, and Crowder.

I'll stop now...please watch the games, try to enjoy them, and be patient.

2 championships in 30 years? Wow, that's bad, I'm sure that's only a Boston thing, chips are usually handed out like free condoms ::)

Probably just need a star like LBJ and we are guaranteed one... well not our team but the team with 2 other stars that he bolts too.

This isn't bingo, you can have star players and never win a chip or get there to be 2nd, like Mem and Clips just to name a few! It takes a lot to win!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

You mean to say when the rest of the league decides to sell what Ainge wants to buy? :P
