Good to hear about Lowry.
But yeah, Derozan, Butler, and Wall are still in the running. IT's been great, but I think the coaches would probably go with those guys first.
I have to agree that Lowry, Butler and Wall really should all be above IT.
Derozan and Thomas are (IMHO) 50/50 and could go either way. They are both putting up similar scoring numbers but Derozan has the benefit being a better defensive player, while Thomas has the benefit of being a very good passer and a more complete scorer (thanks to Derozan's lack of a decent outside game).
Ultimately you could pick either guy, but you'd probably lean towards Derozan simply because the Raptors have been consistently one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the East all season long, and he's the second best player (you could probably argue best) on the Raptors.
On the other hand IT4 is keeping the Celtics consistently in the playoff race, despite the teams complete lack of star power, so he should probably get some credit for that too.
Pretty tough call.
I'd say Isaiah should probably make it either as a reserve, or as an Injury Replacement.
Still utterly disgusted that Cousins is not starting for the West. I appreciate Draymond Green and he is an outstanding player, but he's had one good season in the league. Anthony Davis and Demarcus Cousins have been the undisputed best big men in the NBA for something like three seasons running.
Hell Cousins is averaging 26.2/11.2/2.7/1.3/1.3 in 33 minutes - that's every bit as impressive a stat line as any big man of the past 30 years. He even has the forever doomed Sacramento Kings in the playoff race in the West.
I haven't got an issue with Green being an All-Star, he deserves it - but not over Cousins IMHO.
This is all the more reason why DMC should come to Boston - there is barely any competition in the big man spots over here in the East, and DMC should be an All-Star starter every year.
