Exactly one Celtic had a positive +/- tonight.

Kelly Olynyk came in at +27 every other player was in the negatives, no one else even broke even.

To put that in more shocking terms:
In the 26 minutes KO played the Boston Celtics out scored the Mavericks by 27 points. In the other 22 minutes the celtics were out scored by 32 points.

Holy cow

Judging by that one stat, Kelly is now the greatest player in the world now. Step aside Lebron and Curry. Olynyk's clinic is open for business

I was just going to make a post about this but I will just put this here.  This is the 20th year the NBA has been recording +/- data.  In those 20 years no player has ever been +27 or better while all his teammates were negative in a game his team lost!

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
While this is a much more drastic difference, [as many know] it has been fairly common for KO to lead in +/- or at least score fairly well in this area. At some point it has to be more than a coincidence, right? Like maybe if he wasn't always adjusting his hair and played with seemingly more tenacity he would get more respect. That last up-fake, dribble left, off-balance three was ridiculous for a seven-footer.

Yeah. This was one game where the eye test agreed with the stat. KO was automatic, and IT looked way more effective with him on the floor, too.

He is also shooting 83% from 3 since Jan 18.

He has been more consistent this year than last year, the hope with young players is that every year they become more consistent.

Personally I prefer him starting to Sully starting. Sure the team lost some games starting Olynyk and Amir but that also coincided with Avery being out.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I didn't catch the game. What was his primary match up? Was Olynyk getting most of his minutes when Dwight Powell was in for Pachulia?

The problem with Olynyk is that he's a liability on the defensive boards. He got raked by Pachulia a couple times where he just wasn't strong enough to come down with the ball. It sort of limits Stevens since he can't put Olynyk out there without some other interior defender in there also.

We need Sully's rebounding.

I'd start Smart instead of Bradley to try to diminish what we would lose on the glass with Sully on the bench.
