Would you trade Lee for Jeff Green?

Apparently Green is on the trading block and in the last year of his contract. If we're unable to trade Lee's contract in a bigger trade, would you do an expiring for an expiring swap with Jeff Green? It makes some sense for both sides. Lee would be a tough vet to back up Randolph, and they have a very similar game. Green would be the backup to Crowder, which you can surely do worse for a backup swing man. Green would also make us much more versatile in the small-ball department. The only issue is we'd have to get creative with the trade, because a straight up swap doesn't work in the trade machine.

Cannot stand Jeff Green but I guess I'd have to do it.   That might give Memphis over the alotted number of Lee's though.

Yes, but not sure the salary works for Memphis. We'd probably need to include someone else.

I think just based on concept that Memphis would refuse to trade with us unless we gave them back their first rounder or some kind of valuable asset.  They already look foolish from that deal.

Would I do it?  Probably, but he should be prepared to eat bench behind Jerebko and even RJ Hunter.  He's just not a winning type of player.  No intangibles.  Don't want to waste any minutes on a player that has no chance for improving nor helping our team.

I think Ainge will keep Lee's contract in the unlikely chance that a star becomes available at the deadline. If we dealt for him, isn't there a rule that we wouldn't be able to deal him away for a few months? That would hurt our flexibility going into the deadline.

Besides, Green is not going to make a big difference on this team and he's not going to be re-signed anyway. Who would he get minutes over?

Lee and Young and the Minny likely second rounder for Jeff Green and Courtney Lee.  Lee is the 9th best SG defender on ESPN's real plus minus defensive RPM!!
