I can't believe more people aren't responsive to this deal. At the very least, I don't think Green would ever be a locker room problem, where Lee might become a problem when he's racking up DNP's until February.

I wouldn't mind re-acquiring Jeff to back up Crowder, but only if that's the Celtics best option. I'd rather use Lee's contract for someone like Greg Monroe.

It's a nice idea.

Lee is worth more at the deadline. If nothing comes up then just buy him out.

I would rather give whatever playing time Green would get here to Jerebko, Young, or Hunter.

I would but I don't really want him back.

I think Crowder is out-playing Jeff Green at the moment. Evan Turner is a necessary component of this team with his ball-handling and passing. Fitting Jeff Green into the rotation seems more like a problem than a solution.

Still, the talent upgrade is huge. So yes, I would do the deal.

If we're unable to trade Lee's contract in a bigger trade, would you do an expiring for an expiring swap with Jeff Green? It makes some sense for both sides. Lee would be a tough vet to back up Randolph, and they have a very similar game.

I don't think David Lee is a power forward anymore. I think he is a full time center nowadays because of his decline physically and athletically. Lee is unable to defend & rebound the PF position anymore. I think David Lee would be the backup to Marc Gasol rather than Zach Randolph.

I really think it depends on how the deal is structured.

Just call me an old romantic fool, but I have no hard feelings against Jeff Green, and I stille think that he has got it in him. I remember the great games, and an amazing top level.

If he is really that much out of favor in Memphis, then I would be willing to take him in, and if they want Lee it's fine with me. I like Lee, he is a stand up guy, but at the same time he is not a part of either the present or the future celtic-team.

My dream trade would be: Green+Allen= Lee and 2 2nd rounders. And again just call me an old romantic fool!  ;)

TV experts were say n it would be tuff for Green to even find a team that wants him at all his point.  They were say n Memphisis done with him.    Seems like he just got into the NBA.

Hate to say it---but Lee is a much better player than Jeff Green right now----and Lee STINKS-!

I have to say thought that Jeff Green did have some very good moments here in Boston.  It could be that he just doesn't fit well with the group in Memphis.  He is a smart guy and probably sees the writing on the wall.

His fit was always as a 6/7th man off the bench.  I think if he can go back to that he will be fine.  Still in his prime.

In addition - I would only do this trade if Turner AND Young were trade elsewhere.  I think both of them have more value to this squad than Green at this point, and I would rather have Jerebko at the PF in our small lineup.

In other words, he has no position anymore. You can't just keep moving a player down a position from 1 to 5 as he loses his mobility and hops.
