Someone should do one for Crowder. I think he's deserving of a nod as well.
Not saying that he doesn't, but that whole Washington clique is pretty close. It says a lot that someone from a different team wrote an article advocating for him.
Indeed, but I was looking through the potential SFs from the East, and right now I don't know who I see anyone I'd pick over him after LeBron, Carmelo, and George. And this only looking at the offensive side, when you add the defensive side to it, the gap widens.
Not sure how many players they pick by position though.
well if you took 5 at each spot you'd have a 20 man team.
Right, but there's a lot of duplicity in the positions. For example, is George coming in considered as a PF? How many PFs are coming in being considered as Centers?
Etc, etc. So not sure how they'll go about picking players per position regardless of how we might consider that player.
From 2014s wiki page
Each coach selected two guards, three frontcourt players and two wild cards
So there is no distinction between 3s 4s and 5s. So last year, and what its looking like for this year is that Lebron Carmelo and George will start at the 3, 4, 5.
After this Crowder is up against every 3,4,5 in the entire conference for 3 spots.
There are also 2 wild card guys at the end, but I assume those will go to gaurds as that is a really deep position in the East right now.
Any way, Drummond is basically garunteed one of those 3 spots and Id put Gasol, Bosh, Love, and Milsapp comfortably above Crowder
As for Thomas he will be battling Lowry Butler and Wall, who I think all get in over him, so hell have to hope that both wildcards are gaurds allowing him to fight out the last spot with what would appear to be Derozan and Reggie Jackson.
My predictions:
Starters:
Wade Irving James George Anthony
Coaches picks Gaurds/Forwards
Lowry, Butler / Drummond Gasol Bosh
Wildcards:
Wall Millsap.
