Assuming our roster at the draft looks very similar, if not eerily the same as it does today, I wouldn't mind going the big route.

I'm confident we won't be resigning Lee so that's one man out of he rotation. I'm beginning to think Sully may not be around either. That said, outside of the obvious choices at the top (Simmons I guess, Ingram definitely), I'd use a late first rounder on Amida Brimah out of UConn. I'm high on this guy for his shot-blocking and ability to finish dunks, something the Celtics are somewhat without excluding 6'9 Amir Johnson. Brimah would bring size and coachability to the roster. A late first rounder may still be a reach for him, but I think he's worth it long-term. Though I'm not entirely confident he'll go into the draft. With the new rules he may declare and workout, but even if he does I don't think he'll be an option for any team on draft night.
Long-form is far from dead, but please refrain from paragraph-laden posts! Who wants to read that?!

I'm just taking a guess we're going to try to trade away at least 3 of our draft picks.  This college season has been interesting with the talent, some freshman to senior that all look like they could be impact players.  So my question is say you have 5 draft picks, roughly where we fall in the draft.  I don't want to see we draft Simmons, Ingram, Brown with 3 of your picks.  I'm guessing if we get the 1st pick in the draft the "normal" pick is Ben Simmons, so now you have 4 picks.  The picks I'm using are from http://www.nbadraft.net/2016mock_draft give or take on some players where I think they can go.  I'm interested in seeing what people think of this years draft.  These are the picks I'm keeping.

#1 - Ben Simmons if we get the #1 if we get the #3 I agree on taking Jaylen Brown

#13 - Diamond Stone, A 6'10 center/power forward showing a lot of promise as a freshman.  He's reminding me of a better version of Perkins with more of an offensive game.  They have him going at 17 but I'd be willing to take him earlier being a combo power forward/center.  Becomes the replacement for Lee, Zeller maybe Sully if we don't resign, or Johnson if we let him walk.  I personally want to resign Sully our of these bigs.

#20 - Damian Jones, a traditional center and been so much fun to watch the couple games I've caught.  I believe has the chance to be a center piece of a defense in the NBA, can't speak highly enough.  I'd take him at 13 but Stone they're saying is higher so I move him up to the 13th pick.  They say Jones is looking to be taken at 18 by the Magic but I don't see them taking a center this high in the draft with other needs.  So I'd be hoping he'd fall to 20th.

#31 - Trade

#35 - Taurean Prince, this kid reminds me of a Jae Crowder and a defensive minded small forward/shooting guard.  Plus I like the fact he's a senior so he's had more time to develop his game and more likely to be NBA ready.

#50 - Trade

#51 - Marcus Paige, I've never been a fan of Terry Rozier so I'd be wanting to trade him to someone before the draft to draft Paige.  He's a senior and when been on the court he looks like a true point guard wanting to pass first but can score at will.

#58 - Trade

If I did take Damian Jones at #13 instead of Diamond Stone, and kept the #20 pick I'd be taking Denzel Valentine at #20.

Let me preface this by saying I am an NC State fan and despise UNC, but there is NO WAY that Marcus Paige is NOT drafted in the first round IF he comes out!!!  NO WAY!!  And this is coming from as anti-Tarheel fan as you can get:=-)))

#13 - Diamond Stone

Stone has some conditioning issues, I've heard.

Five guys who can score a lot, and consistently—whether that's at the rim, in the post, or from long distance, I don't care, just get some guys who can put up points.

You'll get 5 guys with no defined NBA position who do lots of little things to help a team win without having the talent to actually score consistently or create matchup problems for opponents, and you'll like it!
Your idea about needing a defined NBA position is antiquated imo. Even our own coach doesn't use the traditional positions.

In today's NBA versatility is paramount not fitting into specific position archetypes. With defense that rely more fitting a specific mold for a position is getting less and less important.

If you are referring to the 5 players listed in the OP, then I have some questions for you.

What does it matter if Simmons doesn't have an NBA position? He will be able to guard 4's and 3's, while providing ball handling, rebounding and a great option rolling to the hoop.

I don't agree that Stone and James doesn't have defined positions. They are both centers imo.

Prince is a guy who can guard multiple positions and hit 3's. Paige is a combo guard who should be able to guard both guard spots once he develops.

Btw Bender (provided we don't get Simmons or Ingram) , and Luwawu is the guys I hope we look at too. With the other pick I'd want a shooter like Valentine, or Heild or a big like Stone, or  Jones, so we pretty much agree on that.

I apologize if those weren't the players you/he were referring too.

This. 10 years from now NBA is going to be an arm wrestle of shooters. Isiaih will be obsolete... not because of D, but because fg %
