I think Evan Turner is, and that's kind of sad. We our supposed to be stacked at guard, and especially at the point position. Yet its really only IT4 that gets the job done night after night.

Crowder is Ok at it, Smart forgot how to dribble, Avery never his strong suit. Rozier gets no chances, and Turner thinks he's Michael Jordan reincarnated, and that's usually a bad thing.

So do we need yet another guard who can drive dish or score?

Unless someone else develops and if we move on fro Evan it looks like we might.

Not sure how this is a question or a revelation.

Also not sure where you got the idea that we're stacked at PG, particularly if you take it to mean players who run the offense and ball handling from the guard spot.

He probably is but it doesn't matter. We don't have to shooters to spread the floor.

Yes, that is why Thomas is now starting and Turner will always get minutes. They don't have any other playmakers. At some point they will need to move on from Turner because at this point in his career he is what he is. I don't think he's suddenly going to develop a 3 pt. shot, for instance.

It's Rozier's rookie year so I'm fine with him not playing much. If he doesn't play at all next year that could be a bad sign for his potential.

Let me clear it up for you Bud, when you have four guys 6'2" and under three guys you selected in the first round, another you traded a first for and Smart being the #6 overall player taken.

You should not be searching for another point guard slash playmaker, but we have to because someone keeps drafting midgets that are really two guards.

That doesn't make it PGs, and it never has. The only ones being developed in that role are a rookie and a 2nd year, and they're not there yet. And that's not a given. At least they provide ball-handling, but still far from being actual PGs, though in case of emergency they can certainly step up to the role. Still doesn't mean we're stacked.

I don't know where you got the idea that we were supposed to be stacked there because we never have. We have a deep guard rotation and that's it.

The point is your making mistakes if your roster is stacked with short guards that are not natural point guards.

This roster needs some changes. It's kind of ridiculous all these midgets and no true point guards.

Those short "midgets" play much bigger than their stature for one. Those short "midgets", with the exception of Thomas (who's a legit All-Star candidate) are at the top or near the top of defenders in both the 1-2 positions, with Smart actually able to guard about 3 positions at a high level.

That this team needs roster changes at some point is a given, again not a revelation. We're hopeful that one or two of our prospects develop into genuine PGs, if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen, and you move on. There's no mistake being made here other than impatience.

In the meantime, we have another young cheap vet, who whether one likes or dislikes, is more than capable on filling that role from the SF/SG position. That you get a legit PG in the team doesn't mean that he wouldn't suck.

Upgrades are always wanted, but that's stating the obvious.
