It's still fairly early in the NCAA season, but so far Simmons has been incredibly dominant. I expected him to be good, but not THIS good. Ingram had a slow start and he's recovered nicely, but he hasn't wowed like Simmons has.

Based on preseason info I'd agree with OP that Ingram + Noel is good value for Simmons, but based on current info, I'd say that Simmons is justifying the hype and you'd be nuts to trade him for anybody other than Karl Towns or Anthony Davis.

If you believe Ingram is better or close to the same as Simmons, that is a good deal. If you don't feel that way and are just doing it due to team fit, that is a bad deal.

I don't think the Celtics will draft Simmons at #1 either. But that's because I don't think they'll be drafting #1.
That's why i said if they get lucky and get #1. But go ahead, just read the title and respond with no insight!
CB Mock Deadline - Minnesota Timberwolves
Kemba Walker / Tyus Jones / Aaron Brooks
Jimmy Butler / Jamal Crawford / Treveon Graham
Rodney Hood / Nic Batum / Marcus Georges Hunt
Taj Gibson / Nemanja Bjelica / Jonas Jerebko
KAT / Derrick Favors / Cole Aldrich
Picks - 2018 CHA 1st (Lotto protected), none out

You got mentally tough players like Russell, Jordan, Kobe and Curry, then you got Lebron James and Shaquille, arguably the best physically best players to play in the nba, and I think Simmons is between all of them, there you go, GO CELTICS!!!

No way Danny trades the #1 pick if we get THAT lucky (I'll be happy with Jaylen Brown if we get him knowing our luck). I see Danny trading current players or our own pick/Dallas' pick/Memphis' pick  on draft night or making some solid pitches in FA to get an upgrade in the front court. Who knows, maybe Mickey will step up and be the man. That'd make a hell of a small ball team lol

now that you mentioned it

just say theoretically, the Nets turns out to be #3 or perhaps top 5 (not 1), if you were the team holding that #1 pick, would you trade it for

Nets pick, Celtics pick and Dallas pick?

If this is the 2014 or 2015 draft where Wiggins or Towns is #1, than yes. Simmons looks like too much of a game changer. Whoever gets the first pick won't trade that if a GM offered them the farm. We do have Danny Ainge as our GM though, a guy who gave up jack squat for Isaiah Thomas and stole a poor mans Jimmy Butler/Kawhi Leonard from the Mavs AND made the infamous Nets trade. You never know

I like Noel and Ingram, but I don't trade the 1st pick for them.  Now if the Sixers threw another high value pick in, I'd consider it (like say they have 4 or 5 from the Lakers or something).  I'd do that, still have the potential franchise player in Ingram, get a dominant defensive center in Noel, and someone like Dragan Bender, Ivan Rabb, or Skal Labissierre to put at PF (assuming I thought they would fit with Noel).  I'd even give the Sixers back some later 1sts in that scenario (like Dallas and our own pick) and a young player or two that would be phased out (like Young).

so

Simmons, Young, DAL 1st, BOS 1st

for

Ingram, Noel, LA 1st

That one I would do, assuming the LA 1st conveyed this summer and neither the Boston or Dallas 1st was in the lottery.  Seems like good value for both teams.  Not sure either would do it though.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

... Philly will probably be at #2 (because they have the worst record)

Um .... ok.  Actually, if Boston got #1, Philly would have maybe a 28% chance of getting #2.  If that's your definition of "probably" you might want to reconsider.

Id probably ask more than Noel, of the bigs in the NBA he is dead last in offensive production. Id ask for Okafor.

The draw is done from 1,001 "balls" without replacement, where the top 3 worst teams have 250, 199, and 156 respectively.

Therefore, if the Nets end up with the third worst record and are drawn top pick, then Philly has a 29.6% chance to be #2, provided that the Celtics are a playoff team.

If the Nets end up with the second worst record, this chance will increase to 31.2%

They also have the right to swap from the Kings, so it's higher than that (around 32%, if everything holds as is)
I'm bitter.

30.9% and 32.5% respectively if the Kings end up with the 10th worst record.

Nope. Even if the Nets pick is #2, you are likely trading for #2 and a couple of teenagers.
