Danny would be nuts to trade away the #1 pick (and the opportunity to draft Simmons).

Simmons has "franchise-altering" written all over him.  Those guys don't come along every draft.
I guarantee you that by the time the draft comes around there will be a strong debate as to who the number one player in this draft is.

Simmons potential isn't anymore franchise altering than Ingram's is, IMO.

People were making the same comments about Okafor at this time last year and he didn't even end up as the top pick. Just because Simmons is the consensus top pick now doesn't mean that will be the case around the draft.

Strong debate?  I don't think so.  I think its going to be a relatively clear consensus that Simmons is going to be the #1 pick.

Feel fairly confident in that too.
I'd be willing to wager TPs, if you are interested.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I like Ingrams future more than I do Simmons. Simmons is going to be limited by his jumper Ingram just has to gain weight. If we got the number one I would absolutely be willing to trade down for Ingram and Noel(I would prefer Okafor)

You mean like LeBron was limited by his jumper when he entered the league?  ;D

That's what they used to say about Magic Johnson; that he was going to be limited by his jumper.

I'd have no problem with that.

Could be reminiscent of the 1980 trade that brought us Mchale and Parish!! Except Philly wouldn't end up getting screwed like the Warriors did...

Simmons by a landslide.  There's Simmons, then everyone else in this draft, and it's not close.  One A+, generational talent and a few solid B's.   Ingram looks like a knee injury waiting to happen.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Simmons is one of those one-in-every-ten year kinda prospects on a Lebron, Durant, Timmy Duncan, Anthony Davis level.
He is not being passed up no matter what.

Personally if we get Ingram we'll be super lucky because he's for HOF potential and he'd be the clear #1 pick if Simmons weren't in this draft.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Simmons doesn't have a bad jumper, he has a mediocre jumper.  It's just that it's the only thing he doesn't do on an super elite level, so it gets played up.  Danny would get fired if he tried to make that move.

Agreed.
Same. I like Ingram but whoever ends up with the #1 pick is going to take Simmons and not look back. He doesn't just look like a franchise talent, he looks like an all time talent.

I don't think the Celtics will draft Simmons at #1 either. But that's because I don't think they'll be drafting #1.

I was for this deal before but with Crowder playing well and C's bigs being horrible got to stick with Simmons. Draft a Center with C's lottery pick + the Dallas pick and again with Philly pick.

IT, AB, Crowder, Simmons, AJ
Smart, Hunter, Young, KO, Poeltl.
Rozier, JJ, Mickey, Brimah

I'm really, super, Uber, duper pooper, excited that your not the GM Buck. That would suck. Minus one TP.
Oh, is someone mad because they're not a "drafting genius guru"? Don't worry buddy, maybe you'll be right on a prospect one day! Or will you fail to respond to this as well? Lol
CB Mock Deadline - Minnesota Timberwolves
Kemba Walker / Tyus Jones / Aaron Brooks
Jimmy Butler / Jamal Crawford / Treveon Graham
Rodney Hood / Nic Batum / Marcus Georges Hunt
Taj Gibson / Nemanja Bjelica / Jonas Jerebko
KAT / Derrick Favors / Cole Aldrich
Picks - 2018 CHA 1st (Lotto protected), none out

Simmons jumper is not even mediocre at this point.  He clearly does not have much confidence in his jumper based on the open shots he turns down.  Simmons defense is probably above average but it isn't super elite.

This is all hypothetical. I think an even more intriguing hypothetical would be the Celtics having the #1 pick and the Sixers having the #2 pick and #4 pick.

Would you accept a Sixers offer of the #2 and #4 plus Noel for the #1 and the Celtics/Mavericks picks?
