With tears in my eyes, my heart goes out to you. Thanks you for sharing, and a tip of the cap goes to Avery.
Man, I cannot even imagine the heartbreak.  Hold you little ones tight tonight.

My condolence to you and your family.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I am so sorry for your loss. It must be so difficult to face every day with his memory.

I moved down here to New Tampa from NH last year and just read this on this blog and feel so bad for you and your family. Can I get the address of where your church is so that my wife & I can attend some time in the future?

Bless you and your family.

My thanks to all of you for the kind words.  Means a lot.  If you have kids - give them a hug, and tell them you love them.  In one split second my life was forever changed.  I miss my son - we were so close.  From 1984-1992 my dad took me to see a Celtics-Cavs game in Cleveland (we're from NE Ohio) every year.  For the last 5 years I took my son to see the Celtics play the Magic.  This year our entire family went together to celebrate his 16th birthday early.  I'm thankful we did...

I don't know what happened in that car.  I know the police report states that the driver knew of that stop sign, yet missed it.  It also states that it was my son who told him to stop or slow down.  Beyond that, I don't know.  There are legalities to this that I'm knee-deep in right now, so I'm going to let those folks make their determinations.  At the end of this, all I know is that both families lose...  No one wins in this deal.

For donations to the youth center to built in Jaret's honor - and no obligation to do anything - and I don't see this money, but it's in the hands of capable and trustworthy people -

Brooksville Christian Church
P.O. Box 10537
Brooksville, FL 34603

Every cent goes toward the building and nothing else.

We had bracelets made that were given out at our son's memorial - I plan to send one to the Celtics for Avery - who knows, maybe he'll wear it. :)

#LL4JHARSH - the idea is to live our lives in honor of Jaret, who was nothing more than a kind, loving and caring kid who taught us that greatness isn't about changing the world in some big way that demands attention - but greatness is found in waking up each day and living life the way it was meant to be lived: to simply love others.

Here is a pic of the bracelet that my daughter is wearing (his high school colors were chosen):

To be absent from the body is to be in the presence of God.

Prayers for you and your family.

To be absent from the body is to be in the presence of God.

Prayers for you and your family.

Amen.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

For whoever is watching the game and just saw Chris Mannix's sideline interview, Mike (33_Larry Legend_33) posted Jaret's story here a while ago.
